Beata really wanted children. But she couldn’t get pregnant. For eight years of marriage, she tried almost every possible treatment. However, the diagnosis of “polycystic ovarian disease on the background of overweight” (over 107 kilograms) sounded like a sentence for the young woman.
Beata and her husband, 40-year-old Pavel, had one more option: in vitro fertilization, IVF. True, the doctors set a condition: to lose weight.
“I had great motivation,” Beata later told the British
For six months, Beata lost more than 30 kilograms and again went to the fertility specialist. This time she was approved for the procedure. The fertilization process was successful. The woman was sent home, warned that in two weeks she would have to do a pregnancy test.
Beata had already waited for years. The extra 14 days seemed like an eternity to her. So she did the test on the ninth day. Two stripes! Beata bought five more tests, all of which were positive. At that moment, the expectant mother did not yet suspect what a surprise awaited her.
“When we came to the first ultrasound, the doctor warned that at such a short time he might not see anything yet,” Beata recalls. – But then he changed in face and invited my husband to sit down. There were triplets! “
However, this is not the most surprising: multiple pregnancies during IVF are normal. But from the transplanted Beata only one embryo took root. And the twins were conceived naturally! Moreover, a few days before the “replanting” of the baby from the test tube.
“We probably violated the doctors’ requirements a little,” the young mother is slightly embarrassed. – They said four days before collecting eggs not to have sex. And that’s what happened. “
Reproductologists call the result not just amazing, but unique. Yes, there were situations when women started preparing for IVF, and then found out that they were pregnant. But that was before the embryo transfer. So the parents decided to interrupt the IVF cycle and endure a natural pregnancy. But that at the same time, and then – it’s just miracles.
The pregnancy was proceeding smoothly. Beata managed to carry babies up to 34 weeks old – this is a very good indicator for triplets. Baby Amelia, formally the youngest, and twins Matilda and Boris were born on December 13th.
“I still cannot believe that after so many years of fruitless attempts I now have three children,” the woman smiles. – Including those conceived naturally. I feed them almost every three hours, I walk with them every day. I had no idea what it was like to be the mother of three at once. But I’m absolutely happy. “
