Each of us knows the feeling of fear, anxiety, pain, guilt … But for some reason, some experiences pass with time, fade and lose their meaning, while others, on the contrary, as if at the snap of our fingers, pop up in our minds again and again. Why this happens and what to do about it, says wingwave coach Maxim Smirnov.
Stress, unpleasant memories of the past or thoughts of future (imaginary) failures are a constant irritant of a person as a whole system. They limit our possibilities, do not allow us to take full advantage of all the abilities and skills that we have. As a result, even when we are supposed to be on horseback, we take a place at the very back of the line and go around the second and third circle to do what we want.
In such situations, we say that a person is “stuck”, and the impenetrable barrier is himself, his own experiences. Such a «stuck» very often gives rise to new problems of a psycho-emotional or behavioral nature. In the best case, the body copes with stress itself — according to the principle “the morning is wiser than the evening”, because healthy sleep is a key component in experiencing and structuring our experiences. But what to do when the body’s own resources are not enough?

Wingwave coaching is a scientifically proven and highly effective method of work, which involves a very deep and at the same time extremely correct and environmentally friendly study of the client’s task. In the work of wingwave, we use the deepest and most rooted emotional layers associated with stressful and traumatic experiences, beliefs and behaviors that have lost their effectiveness in terms of human self-realization. And we do this using the phase of «rapid» sleep — REM (rapid eye movement).
Wingwave coaching is positioned by the authors Cora Besser-Siegmund and Harry Siegmund as a method of short-term work, which in some cases turns out to be especially important. Especially when the problem has already matured and the person is not ready or cannot spend a significant amount of time to solve it. Conceptually combining three basic components, each of which has shown high practical efficiency, this method allows you to quickly identify the problem and solve it exactly at the level where it arose. By itself, this approach involves a very intensive process of internal study of the task by the client, and at the same time, a significant and lasting result.
- Desensitization and treatment of trauma with eye movement
During wingwave coaching, we simulate REM sleep. The client’s eyes follow the movements of the coach’s hand, and emotional blocks seem to recede, cease to have any significant impact on our feelings and behavior. These eye movements activate the physiological mechanisms of synchronizing the work of the right and left hemispheres of the brain, as a result of which emotional experiences are mobilized and experienced by the client as they should have been from the beginning. As if «suddenly» the client can rethink the problem or task, find for himself an unexpected solution to the situation, or simply «let go» of it.
To date, the wingwave method is one of the few that have been certified according to ISO standards, and the total number of specialists using this technique in their practice is several thousand people. Communities of specialists cover almost all European countries, with a center in Germany, as well as the USA, Australia, China, and some time ago, thanks to the efforts of Svetlana Khamaganova and the University of Neuroleadership, wingwave became available in Moscow.
- Am I ready to go to a psychologist?
What queries can a person turn to a wingwave coach? The versatility of the method is determined by the versatility of the physiological mechanisms underlying it. No matter what situation a person is in, he always remains himself, along with his emotions or stressful experiences. A few examples of industries and tasks that wingwave coaching can work with.
- Exam to be taken. How often, already at the exit from the audience with a grade in a diary or a record book, we “suddenly” come up with a desperately great idea to answer a question, but, unfortunately, you won’t go back and you won’t correct the grade. An exam is a significant and therefore stressful event, and in this sense, the preparation process includes not only cramming a textbook, but also some psychological adjustment. At the same time, there is a pattern that a positive, or let’s call it an effective experience, strengthens our self-confidence, asserting in our own strengths and capabilities, while a negative experience then constantly wants to be repeated, if not even in practice, then in our imagination for sure.
- Business — business presentation, important negotiations, a lot of events in business life that require extremely high mobilization from us.
- Sports — recovery from injury, preparation for the competition.
- Personal problems and personal tasks — everywhere, prolonged psycho-emotional stress can “help” us exchange personal freedom and opportunities for an extreme degree of lack of freedom and self-doubt.
