Window decoration in the kitchen: design ideas. Video

Many design solutions are known that allow you to completely transform the interior of the kitchen. In most of these projects, the window is central. It is very important to ensure that the window is not only beautifully decorated, but also allows a sufficient amount of light to pass through.

How to decorate a window in the kitchen: video tips

Unsightly view from the window is not a problem

It happens that the kitchen window overlooks a blank wall of a neighboring house, or the view outside the window is simply not very aesthetic. In this case, the window decoration with the help of a special film equipped with patterns or geometric shapes can help. Such a film has an adhesive base, so it can be attached directly to the glass surface. In this way, you can simulate spray glass or glass cut.

There is also a slightly tinted or completely colored film on sale, which almost does not prevent the penetration of sunlight into the room.

Try experimenting with different shades of color film. In this case, part of the window or even its entire surface as a whole can be decorated in the form of a colorful stained-glass window. Exquisite thematic designs or combinations of simple geometric shapes will create the effect of being in a medieval knight’s castle. If you are afraid that such a bright design will reduce the luminous flux, you can only cover the balcony door located in the kitchen with colored film.

Kitchen window decoration: aesthetically pleasing and functional

An essential part of a window in a kitchen is usually a window sill. Traditionally, it is used as a shelf for flower pots, and even for placing kitchen utensils and household appliances. You can approach the design of the window sill from a more functional point of view by installing a hob or sink along the window instead.

This solution, which allows you to significantly save space, preferably for a kitchen with small dimensions

It is not bad to fit a kitchen window into the interior if you hang small elongated kitchen cabinets on its sides. A window in the kitchen framed by carved wooden shelves for curly flowers will also look very attractive. The shelves can be replaced by pots, woven from a thick twisted cord.

It is recommended to place curtains or curtains, traditional in the design of windows, in the kitchen as close as possible to the window opening and away from the place of cooking. For small kitchens, try to choose curtains that are light, thin and do not contrast with the color of the walls. Such a solution will visually create a single and harmonious space in the kitchen. Remember that folds on kitchen curtains will often be redundant. They get dirty faster and hide the space.
