A trip to the sea for most of us this year, it seems, will remain only a dream, but the “sea” styling on the head can be achieved without leaving your hometown. We tell you how to do it and what means to arm yourself.
Surely, many paid attention to how lush and beautifully disheveled hair becomes on vacation, if you spend it on the seashore. Gusts of warm wind and salty water easily replace a star hair stylist and create on the head that very careless styling that would have taken us a lot of time. And it is still unknown whether the result would have been just as successful.
Sea salt is “to blame” for such a transformation of the hair – it makes the hair denser and harder, they become more pliable, hold volume better and become oily at the roots more slowly. And since on the beach the hair dries in the wind, which ruffles it in different directions, in the end we have the very desired disheveledness – laid-back and natural.
It would seem that the solution suggests itself – you just need to dissolve sea salt in water and rinse your hair with a hairdryer before styling. But not everything is so simple. It is worth remembering that salt has a drying property. We run the risk of making our hair dry and brittle, just as happens after a trip to the sea.
Of course, you can simultaneously begin to take care of them with a vengeance – make masks and wraps, go to the professional restoration procedure. But you can do it easier and get a salt spray for styling – many brands of hair cosmetics can already boast of them.
Such sprays do contain sea water or sea salt, but are created taking into account their drying effect – moisturizing, protecting and restoring ingredients are also included in the composition.
In addition, using them is easier than messing around on your own, pouring from a ladle. It is enough just to lower your head, spray wet hair with a spray and carefully tousle them with your fingers. At the same time, you can dry it with a hairdryer – with or without a diffuser – or you can let them dry on their own.
If the hair is too fragile and even a special salt spray dries them out, you can take a sugar analogue of the product – you need to use it in the same way.
Powders and other products for basal volume cannot always be washed off with shampoo, and they can form a coating.
When the hair is almost or completely dry, you can leave it loose, or you can go further and create a messy ponytail, bun or braid. Before this, in no case should you comb your hair or carefully disassemble the resulting strands with your fingers – this will “break” the effect of the spray.
To slightly revive the styling or give it a little more volume, just shake your hair with your hands. If, when styling with salt or sugar sprays, the volume at the roots still seems insufficient, you can add a special powder or spray for root volume to the arsenal, which does not require the use of a hair dryer.
These products make the hair at the roots dense, stiff and lift them, which makes the hair look fuller. As a rule, you need to apply them on already dried hair – just rub a little of the product in your fingers and apply to the hair at the roots.
But along with them, you will also have to use a product or mask for deep cleansing of the scalp, since such powders and other products for basal volume cannot always be washed off with shampoo, and they can form a plaque over time. If this prospect does not seem attractive, use dry shampoo – it also helps to add volume, and it is washed off more easily.
By the way, it is not necessary to fix the “marine” styling with hairspray – salt and sugar sprays hold it themselves, but, as they say, if you really want to, you can. Then it is enough just to sprinkle the hair from a distance of 30-40 cm, let the product dry for a minute and enjoy your beach hair even in the middle of the stone jungle.
