Wig care. Video
Women who are deprived of the natural beauty of their hair, as well as those who like to periodically change their image, use wigs. To look natural and attractive, a wig needs daily care and careful storage.
Wigs can be divided into two large groups. Those made from natural cut hair and those made with synthetic materials or adapted algae. Their common misfortune is that their hair does not keep its shape, it is almost impossible to change the appearance of a wig and not spoil it, moreover, regardless of the length of the hair, they strive to get tangled and matted.
Wigs of this type need frequent brushing. Straight curls need to be combed with a small metal comb, and then with a brush with stiff and long bristles. Curled hair should be properly disassembled with your fingers, you cannot use a comb, otherwise there will be no trace of the curl. Every day a faux wig should be treated with nourishing sprays, which will create a thin coating on each hair and make it “slippery”.
Dry your synthetic wig away from heating elements. Using a hairdryer is undesirable
You need to wash such wigs infrequently and only with shampoos for dry hair: pour warm water into a basin, dissolve the shampoo in it and lower the wig. After about 5 minutes, simply rinse your hair in cold water and shake. After washing, be sure to use oily balms that do not need to be rinsed off. The balm will allow you to easily comb your wig with a thin comb.
These are the most whimsical wigs that are afraid of temperature extremes, bright light and dry air. They can be stored only in a straightened state and only after thorough combing. You need to comb your hair with a thin comb in the direction of its “growth”, after sprinkling it with thermal water or a liquid for styling with a slight hold.
It is completely undesirable to wash natural wigs, they are usually dry cleaned in specialized laboratories (contact a good salon, and they will tell you where this can be done)
If you decide to wash yourself, then try to use a good nourishing shampoo, a greasy hair mask and conditioner that does not need to be washed off.
Place the wig on the mold and comb carefully. Take a basin of warm water, rub the shampoo in your palms until a stable lather appears and apply it to your hair. There is no need to rub the strands, just apply the foam as the hair grows. Unlike synthetic wigs, natural wigs need to be rinsed under a diffused stream of water (under the shower).
It is better to refuse from grandmother’s methods of caring for wigs (egg white, soda, vinegar water) if you cannot afford professional products, just wash and comb the wig well, and it will serve you for a long time
After applying the conditioner, the wig can be wrapped in a towel along with the mold, and dried at room temperature. Be sure to apply a special smoothing emulsion on dry hair.
You can style your hair even before it dries completely, the main thing is not to pull the strands and not damage the fixation. By the way, the glue or seam in the wig also needs to be looked after and dried thoroughly after each wash. For used wigs, salons offer drip-fixing and individual strand sewing services.
