Why you need to do a pregnancy test in the morning: the doctor explains
The fastest way to find out about an interesting situation in the early stages is to do a rapid pregnancy test. When is the best time to do a mini-survey, and why?

“When we talk about taking a pregnancy test bought at a pharmacy, it really should be done in the morning. At least when it comes to the early stages of pregnancy. The fact is that such tests are based on the detection of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in a woman’s urine, or, as it is also called, a pregnancy hormone (if a woman is not in a position, then the hCG level will be below 5 mIU / ml). And its greatest concentration is observed precisely in the morning.
With the help of such a test, pregnancy can be detected as early as the third day of a missed period. To make the result more accurate, it is recommended not to drink a lot of water at night. It is also worth noting that the level of hCG grows dynamically with increasing gestational age. Therefore, when menstruation is delayed by more than 2 weeks, the time of the test ceases to depend on the time of day. “
By the way, the more expensive the test, the more sensitive it is to hCG. It is best to give preference to digital (electronic) options: they are almost never wrong.
Also, according to the method of application, they are divided into test strips, tablet and inkjet. The most common and cheapest are test strips… Everything is simple here: dip the strip in a small amount of urine, after 10 minutes the result is ready. Two stripes – you are pregnant. It happens that the second strip only slightly changes color. In this case, it is recommended to repeat the study after 2-3 days. The inaccuracy of the result is usually due to the fact that women either underexpose the strips or overexpose them in time.
Tablet test It consists of two windows: pre-collected urine is dripped into one of them, and the response appears in the other. Inkjet tests can determine pregnancy as early as a few days before the onset of menstruation. For the study, it is enough to substitute, according to the instructions, the device under the stream of urine, the result will be shown on a special display.
The analysis result may be unreliable in such cases:
HCG can be minimal if conception occurs just a few days before the onset of menstruation. Also, the pregnancy hormone at 8-9 obstetric weeks already ceases to grow, and by 12 weeks it ceases to be produced altogether.
The use of diuretics or excessive fluid intake affects the concentration of HCN. The more you drink, the lower your hormone levels will be.
Sometimes the test shows one strip when there is a threat of miscarriage, ectopic or frozen pregnancy. After a miscarriage, the pregnancy hormone remains in the body for a long time.
In the presence of cancer, tests sometimes show two stripes.
If you are taking medications containing hCG (for example, to stimulate ovulation), then the test can deceive you and show you that you are pregnant.
You cannot trust a dough that has expired and storage conditions have been violated.
“Tests rarely cheat,” says the doctor. – If you carried out the analysis strictly according to the instructions and you do not have diseases that affect the testing (tumors, threats of miscarriage, etc.), then most likely the two lines on the display can be trusted. As soon as this happened, you should immediately consult a doctor and register. Ultrasound can confirm pregnancy. If the test turns out to be negative, and menstruation does not begin, this is a reason for an urgent visit to a gynecologist. “
