Salon lamination is the best way to preserve the color of the dyed strands and give them a glamorous shine. A similar effect can be achieved at home with a gelatin hair mask.
Gelatin use for hair
A gelatin hair mask really makes sense, says trichologist, dermatologist Maria Nevskaya: “Gelatin consists of collagen, which is needed to build the hair fiber. To strengthen hair, this protein can be taken orally as part of various dishes. And you can make masks from gelatin for hair. The viscous composition envelops the strands and forms a moisture-retaining film on them, protects against the aggressive action of a hair dryer, irons, and so on. The curls become smooth, shiny, elastic and voluminous, as after Botox for hair and lamination – and the result is noticeable after the first application, and the pronounced effect of the gelatin hair mask appears after a month.
Before performances, athletes fill their hair with gelatin so that the hairstyle is held tightly.
How to make a gelatin hair mask at home?
At the heart of all masks with gelatin for hair, which can be prepared at home, is the base mixture:

½ glass of water.
Gelatin is diluted in warm (in no case boiling!) Water and left to swell for 30–40 minutes. Then other components are added. If the gelatin lumps have not completely dissolved, the mixture can be slightly warmed up in a water bath.

How to use gelatin hair mask correctly?
A gelatin mask is applied only to the hair: it will form an impenetrable film on the skin, we don’t need it.
Despite the fact that the gelatin mask is not applied to the scalp, if there are wounds and scratches on it, it is not recommended to make hair masks from gelatin with water.
Gelatin is not very suitable for dry hair: it can make it even drier.
On straight hair, a gelatin hair mask gives an incredible effect, but owners of small curls need to be careful with it: hair can become stiffer and worse to fit.
It is worth using a gelatin mask no more than 1 time per week, otherwise it can weaken the hair, make it brittle.
