And we are actively helping him in this – just out of ignorance.
It’s hard to live even a day without your favorite smartphone. This is the first item we pick up in the morning and the last one we touch before bed. And during the day we practically do not part with him. Perhaps it is from his screen that you are now reading this text. However, our pet, with whom we spend half of our lives in an embrace, can become deadly. And we ourselves help him in this. How is it?
1. We change the battery in the nearest workshop
More than once there have been cases when phones exploded in the hands of the owners. And all because they did not change the batteries in certified service centers, but wherever – workshops where they replace the battery, reflash, install new glass, etc., now at every step. The battery will most likely be a cheap Chinese knock-off from which you can expect anything.
2. Throw the phone casually on the table
The gesture can even be beautiful – as if we are not at all dear to the latest iPhone model, for which we earned in the sweat of our brows. Oh, these material things, after all, we are for a rich inner world, only he is really important. The material world can take revenge on you for your negligence, as already happened to one nervous man at the airport: in his hearts he threw the phone on the table next to the frame at the entrance, and it immediately exploded. Can you imagine what it was like for passengers at the airport to hear the explosion? Fortunately, no one was hurt.
5. We talk on the phone while it is charging
But this is a deadly number in the literal sense of the word. Telephones have already exploded in the hands of their owners more than once during a conversation. There were also deaths. If it is really important for you to answer the call while the phone is connected to the network, turn on the speakerphone or use a headset.
6. Put the charging phone under the pillow
The gadget overheats easily. Deprived of the opportunity to cool down, it can cause a fire. Experts generally do not recommend putting a charging phone next to you. Still, no one is immune from troubles with poor-quality wires, plugs, voltage drops. It’s a shame to get injured out of the blue.
7. Leave the charger in the socket
Firstly, it is uneconomical: the device continues to consume electricity, albeit insignificantly. Secondly, it is fire hazardous: sometimes the chargers overheat. True, “native” chargers are practically safe, if the instructions do not say that it should not be left in the outlet, then it’s okay. Unless, of course, it is defective. We will learn about the defect when it lights up. Or explode. So maybe turn it off just in case?
8. Talking on the phone in a thunderstorm
When lightning flashes on the street, it is generally better not to approach the phone, not to keep it in your pocket or close to your body. And even more so not to talk. The likelihood that lightning will strike you is small, but if you are “lucky”, the gadget can cause additional defeat. Charging your mobile phone in a thunderstorm is also not worth it – because of the voltage drops in the network.
9. We put the phone to charge at night
This is harmful to the battery – it becomes unusable so quickly. In addition, if something suddenly happens to the charger, you simply will not notice it. It is also harmful to charge your phone if it is too cold or hot. Coming from the street, it is advised to first warm the gadget to room temperature.
10. Do not wipe it with antibacterial wipes
You know that the surface of the phone is dirtier than the rim of the toilet. However, we clean the toilet much more often. Handrails in transport, goods in stores, doorknobs, God knows what else – all these are things that are teeming with bacteria, because they are touched by thousands of people. Moreover, not all of them are as clean as we would like. We touch these objects too. And then we grab the phone and put it to our face. Experts say that this even provokes acne. Not to mention the usual disgust.
