Why you can’t keep seashells from the sea at home

Why you can’t keep seashells from the sea at home

There are at least two reasons for this, and one of them is scientific.

Who among us has not brought home from vacation beautiful shells found on the shore? It’s so nice to remember the time spent by the sea, when the window is completely gray. However, there are reasons to leave the seashell where its home is – on the beach.

Reason 1: signs

Some esotericists believe that the shell brings bad energy into the house. After all, this is, in fact, the home of a dead clam. Bringing home the remains of a deceased creature, we incur the worst consequences: quarrels, conflicts, problems at work, lack of money.

In addition, health problems can begin, especially with the cardiovascular system. These are pressure surges, and arrhythmia, and tachycardia – anything you like, up to varicose veins or even a heart attack. Closed shells are considered the most dangerous. After all, they may still contain the remains of their residents.

And it’s especially bad if you bought a shell – often mollusks are harvested alive for the sake of their houses, they are ruthlessly thrown out of them, and the shells are sold. Such a thing of good energy simply cannot bear.

Signs say that you can keep shells only where you rarely visit. For example, in the attic or in the closet. But then, is there any point in bringing such a souvenir home?

Reason 2: ecology

Just one tiny shell – how can this affect the environment? Very much. After all, you are not the only tourist who takes a seashell from the beach with you. There are thousands of us. Yes, and one thing is usually not limited to. According to experts, over the past 30 years, the number of seashells on the beaches of Spain has decreased by 60 percent. All thanks to the tourists.

Ecologists say that this is how we deprive sea creatures of potential houses – hermit crabs, for example, often pick up shells on the shore. When there are no shells, they have to live in garbage – there are already known cases when crabs settled in empty cans.

Secondly, seashells are needed to preserve the coastline. Otherwise, erosion may begin, and this is already fraught with global consequences – the beach will simply wash away.

Thirdly, the barbaric extermination of mollusks for the sake of shells that will stupidly gather dust somewhere on the shelf – this is simply unworthy of a thinking creature. And you can also be fined or even imprisoned for collecting shells: in Costa Rica and the Philippines, for example, this is prohibited, in Florida too.

What does feng shui say?

But this teaching has nothing against shells in the house. They personify comfort and a sense of satisfaction, relaxation. Smooth shells are the energy of comfort, family. Thorny – protective energy. And all of them are symbols of well-being and positiveness. There is even a guide on which shells are best to keep where, so that the energy is distributed in a certain way.

  • Window-sill – thorny shells create a protective barrier, preventing negative energy from entering the house. By the way, cacti have the same gift – for this it is important to place them correctly.

  • Kitchen – smooth shells contribute to harmonious relationships in the family, there will be more fun and love in the house.

  • hallway – a basket of seashells at the front door promises a stable and successful career.

  • Photo framedecorated with seashells will strengthen the relationship with the person depicted in the picture.

  • Seashells in water (in an aquarium or fountain) – to the money flowing into the house.
