Recently, we only hear how a terrible diagnosis was made to one favorite celebrity, then to another … Why did the stars start to get sick so often? What are these features of the profession? Or is it simply due to the fact that these diseases were not advertised before? Woman’s Day consulted an oncologist.
Due to oncology, Vera Glagoleva died in August, and Mikhail Zadornov died in November. No one is immune from cancer – even the idols of cinema and television, beloved by millions. But still, reports of the disease among celebrities began to appear frighteningly often. We asked the oncologist what is it among the stars: ordinary cancer or bad luck?
– There is no rock here, this is an ordinary cancer, – said Woman’s Day Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Andrey Pylev, Chief Physician-Oncologist of the European Clinic of Surgery and Oncology… – If it were not a director and a TV presenter, but, for example, librarians, then the disease simply would not become public knowledge. I believe that the whole point is that we know more about the personal life of the stars. If we take the entire group of celebrities who have had cancer, then everything is absolutely consistent with the percentage of people with cancer in any other profession.
As our expert noted, there are professions that are dangerous from the point of view of oncology.
“They are usually associated with harmful toxic industries, especially where they do not care about their safety,” he warns. – So, hairdressers are often susceptible to the use of paints and varnishes oncology.
But between the professions associated with stress and oncology, there is, according to the experience of our interlocutor, rather an indirect connection.
“Nervous tension can provoke an exacerbation of existing problems, for example, with the stomach, which indirectly increase the risk of developing malignant tumors,” warns Andrey Pylev. – But there is no clear evidence of a direct connection between stress and tumor occurrence.
