Why pregnant women shouldn’t use perfume

British scientists make one discovery after another, they are truly indefatigable. This time, two very serious specialists have teamed up: Dr. Juraska, who has been studying the effect of hormones on the human brain for decades, and Dr. Schanz, who is studying the effect of various products on the endocrine system.

They set up experiments, thank God, not on living people, but on rats. They fed the females with food containing phthalates throughout the gestation and 10 days after. Then the mother rats and their children were observed for another year. It turned out that the phthalate-rich food did not affect parent rats in any way. But there were problems with the children.

Rat pups born of phthalate lovers were much stupider and more inhibited than their counterparts fed with organic food. It turned out that the whole thing is in the frontal cortex of the brain, which has undergone changes due to the unhealthy diet of mothers.

What does this have to do with people? The most direct. The dose of phthalates given to rats was comparable to that given to women who regularly wear perfume. The spirits do not affect their body in any way, but they affect the offspring.

Another risk factor is plastic dishes. Because of it, phthalates also enter the human body.

“My advice is that pregnant women should avoid plastic dishes. No need to microwave food in containers. Try to use perfume less often and give up, at least temporarily, air fresheners, ”says Dr. Juraska.

According to the doctor, these simple measures will minimize harm to the developing fetus.

“Since everyone is concerned about early childhood development, why not start with fetal development?” – the researcher reasonably notes.
