Why pregnancy is dreaming: 5 subconscious reasons
Psychologists interpret dreams about an interesting situation not as exciting and unambiguous as dream books, but their interpretation is more applicable to reality.
Probably every woman at least once in her life had such a dream: she is pregnant or giving birth. Moreover, it does not matter at all whether she actually has children, whether she plans to replenish the family or not. By the way, men, too, sometimes dream of something like that. In dream books, you can find the most dramatic interpretations of such dreams. But more often than not, these are just the fantasies of the compilers. And what do psychologists say about this – why is pregnancy dreaming?
“Pregnancy dreams are usually associated with something in your life that is in the growth phase,” says Lauri Levenberg, professional dream analyst. “Plans, projects, relationships – everything that can lead to a new step in life.”
According to the expert, pregnancy dreams are a way in which your subconscious mind tries to convey something important to you, which in reality fades into the background. After all, when you are awake, you can ignore something, close your eyes to something. A dream is an opportunity to look at the current situation from a different angle. And this is what dreams of pregnancy can mean.
1. The beginning of a new stage in life
If you dream that you have just become pregnant, this means that you are at the starting point of some significant changes in your life. This can apply to work, study, personal life, and even home renovation. Dreams about pregnancy can be a metaphor for other types of creativity – you have a new project, and in a dream it comes to you in the form of an unborn child. But if you dream that pregnancy is already in the last stages, then this means that your project is already nearing completion – the time will soon come to reap its benefits.
2. Willingness to change
The subconscious mind may signal to you that it is time to stop doubting and decide on the changes that you have dreamed of for a long time – perhaps without even admitting it to yourself. End a boring relationship, change jobs, move – if you have such thoughts, but you doubt that you have enough strength, time to act. On a subconscious level, you are already ready for all bold decisions.
3. Internal anxiety
If you dream of toxicosis – this also happens – this may indicate your emotional instability. Most likely, events in your life do not develop as you would like, you really cannot or do not want to influence this, but you are very worried. There is only one recipe: you need to ask yourself what gives you discomfort, what makes you feel depressed or pinched. And if it is in your power to fix it – be it the everyday side of the issue, personal relationships or work – you need to fix it.
4. You are mired in a routine
If you dreamed that your child was born, but then disappeared somewhere, this is a warning from the subconscious that you are missing something important in your life. What really has value dissolves in the daily routine, in the hustle and bustle, some small household worries. Psychologists say that at such a moment it is important to stop and think about what you are missing – maybe this is your old dream, for which you worked a lot, to which you went, and suddenly decided to push it to the second (third, fifth) plan. Do not discount the dream, this is a direct path to depression.
5. Do you dream of children
The simplest interpretation. What your thoughts are doing in reality is reflected in a dream. If you have been dreaming of children for a long time or even trying to conceive, it is no wonder that your dreams will come true – even if in a dream.
There is also a downside: you may be afraid of getting pregnant for some reason. It can be an unwillingness to have children, and a traumatic experience of a previous pregnancy and childbirth, and a subconscious fear of being tied to your current partner by a common child.
