What is nordic walking
Nordic walking is a special walking technique with sticks. Other names: Finnish, northern, Nordic. Suitable for people of all ages who can walk. Since the late 1990s, it has gained popularity all over the world and has become an independent sport.
If you decide to take up this kind of amateur sports, you need the advice of an experienced specialist. For classes you will need:
- Special sticks.
- Comfortable sneakers.
- Pedometer (optional).
- Fitness bracelet (optional).
Finnish (Scandinavian) poles are shorter than ski poles. A durable tip is attached to their tip to cushion the force of impact on the surface of soil, asphalt, ice or snow.
The benefits and harms of Nordic walking

Finnish walking is not good for your health if:
- There is no rhythm in the movements.
- Stiffness and tension of the whole body.
- The elbows are constantly pressed to the body.
In order not to have health problems, training should be carried out with an experienced trainer.
