Why I never go on diets and why diets are unhealthy

Since childhood, I dreamed of being a model and defiling the catwalk in only one swimsuit for my friends to envy. But who among us, at the age of four or five, thinks about dieting and constant self-control, and also about counting calories. Fortunately, until adolescence, I was thin and easily ate my favorite dumplings and grandmother’s pies, not even knowing that extra pounds tend to appear.

It all started at the moment when my girlfriend suddenly decided to go on a diet. She was 13 years old, she was moderately thin, but she found extra centimeters in her and decided that it was time to get rid of them as soon as possible. The situation was the same as in the movie “The Devil Wears Prada”: “I have a new very effective diet, I just don’t eat anything.” After a couple of months of such an “effective” diet, my friend had a nervous breakdown (due to the fact that the body did not receive fast carbohydrates and fiber, which increase cortisol levels), and, as a result, anorexia.

I made a decision that I still do not regret: “I will never go on a diet.”

It also seemed to me that my waist was far from model parameters, and my buttocks were too voluminous. But after I began to practice dancing more vigorously, every day for 2-3 hours, I lost weight to such a point that my friend with anorexia could envy, and this without extreme measures.

Now, when I hear that a new and unique diet has appeared that will help to lose 10 kilograms in a month, I am skeptical. Because I understand what the consequences can be after the newfangled food system. For example, for the past six months, everyone has been on gluten-free and keto diets. Everyone says they are effective, but few people think that certain diets are unhealthy.

One of my colleagues could not resist and sat down on the well-known diet of Dr. Ducan. For days on end, she ate only protein, denying herself the fast carbohydrates and fiber that the body needs. Of course, the result from such a nutritional system was excellent, in a couple of months the girl lost 10 kilograms, but as soon as she relaxed and stopped adhering to the diet, the weight returned.

On the issue of nutrition, I completely agree with nutritionists that everyone needs only a correct and balanced diet with fats, proteins and carbohydrates. And if you follow this, then you can not worry about extra pounds. Besides, this does not mean that I do not eat pizza and cakes. I happily eat this without remorse, savoring every bite of delicious, albeit unhealthy food. However, in everything you need to know when to stop and not get carried away with fast food.

So what is the secret of the perfect figure, you ask? It’s simple – you need to be happy, and diets and restrictions make us unhappy, and besides, grief, as you know, everyone is eating sweet.

And don’t forget about calorie consumption. It’s important to find the type of activity that you enjoy. For example, several times a week I go to stretching and body ballet – after classes I don’t feel like eating at all, and the feeling of happiness fills every cell!
