Why every child should do ballet

Is it necessary to put a cross on a child’s dream of ballet if the child has chubby cheeks or has a slight clubfoot? healthy-food-near-me.com deals with Ilze Liepa.

After the release of the cartoon “Ballerina” last year, a real ballet boom began in the country. “I want to be a ballerina” – you probably heard such a phrase from your beloved child. But is it worth following the child’s lead? And is the ballet of a young lady really necessary? People’s Artist of Russia, artistic director of the Russian National Ballet School, Ilze Liepa, is convinced. And that’s why.

Choreography is called classic body formation. The girl becomes graceful, one can immediately see this on the street. But ballet classes also incredibly ennoble the soul. No wonder in the XNUMXth century they said: straightening the back, straightening the soul. Therefore, I am convinced that every girl should practice ballet, ”says Ilze Liepa. – It doesn’t matter if she has data for a professional ballet or not. We will take any, even a plump lover of buns and sweets. This also applies to boys. At one time, Mikhail Baryshnikov said: “Ballet is hard work for real guys.” So let the parents of the future defenders of the Fatherland do not think that ballet is not courageous.

It is good if classes are accompanied by an accompanist, as in our school. Live music develops a sense of rhythm, the ability to hear a musical phrase and repeat it in motion. This opens the ears for the perception of classical music. And even if the child does not become a professional dancer, all the treasures of our magical Petersburg will become clear to him. He will be able to perceive museums, concerts, and painting in a different way.

Available from an early age

In St. Petersburg we recruit children from 3 years old, and in Moscow – from 2. At this age they begin to study together with their mothers or nannies, and the lesson can last only 15 minutes. Recently I saw a girl in the class, she has been studying with us for the third year. She began to practice with a nipple in her mouth, kept it for no more than 15 minutes. But now she is happy to perform the most difficult exercises for an hour and a half.

Of course, at 2-3 years old children do not get up to the bench and do not climb “on their fingers.” But they are engaged in ballet gymnastics, which correctly forms the setting of the back, legs, develops coordination, a sense of rhythm and develops thinking. And also – it prevents many problems of the musculoskeletal system.

If you didn’t have time to enroll your child in ballet at the age of 2-3, that’s okay. You can start classes both at the age of 5 and at 25. Of course, if we are not talking about professional ballet and further admission to a choreographic school. Ballet is becoming fashionable, and I cannot but rejoice. When an adult woman stands up to the barre and performs ballet exercises at the level and with the amplitude that are available to her, it is wonderful.

Choreography, like sports, requires overcoming. This is hard work, self-discipline, responsibility, self-discipline. Yes, sometimes a child can get really tired. But once you say: “If you don’t want to go, don’t go” – that’s all, this is a path to nowhere. With children, no matter how small they are, you need to talk, you need to be able to find a common language with them and negotiate.

Learn to prioritize correctly. Our father and Andris, Maris Liepa, never said that we must certainly become stars. It is much more important that we love the profession. A profession in which you have to work every day through I can’t, where you are constantly forced to endure pain, overcome yourself. But only in this case everything will turn out successfully.

And here a lot depends on the teacher. Difficult, monotonous and sometimes boring work can be presented in such a way that the child leaves the classroom with a smile and burning eyes. And this, in turn, perfectly forms character. Therefore, if the child is not fired up with the desire to do ballet after the first lesson, do not rush to send him to gymnastics or drawing. Try changing your teacher first.
