Why does hair fall out in autumn?

Hormonal fluctuations. In summer, estrogen is synthesized more actively, and the growth phase, anagen, is prolonged in the hair. In autumn, due to a decrease in daylight hours, the concentration of estrogen in the blood falls, some of the hair follicles enter the telogen (rest) stage, after which women experience seasonal hair loss.
Autumn melancholy. Due to the reduction of daylight hours, dank and cloudy weather, cold, especially in contrast with the happy period of summer holidays, autumn melancholy may develop, and anxiety may increase. Against their background, there is an active release of cortisol. It, in turn, provokes vasospasm and impairs the blood supply to the hair follicles – this is another reason why hair falls out in the fall.

How long does autumn hair loss last?
Fortunately, it passes in 1-2 months – unless, of course, the reason is the change of season, and not some kind of global breakdown in the body. And, of course, how long autumn hair loss lasts depends on how quickly recovery care begins, so do not delay taking vitamins, updating care products, etc.
