Why do we get angry and how to deal with it?

There are days when everything annoys: a partner, colleagues, children … and sometimes these days drag on for weeks and even months. What to do in this case? How can you help yourself regain your mental balance?

Speaking of irritability, it is necessary to pay special attention to our behavior in society and analyze: is this a temporary stage of life associated with an overload of the body, or is it an already well-established, pronounced character trait?

If a person is always irritable, this is due to the peculiarities of his temperament, upbringing, genetic and mental characteristics. If normally a person is calm and polite, then irritability is most likely a consequence of other factors. For example, such as:

  • Neuropsychic exhaustion. This is the most common cause of irritability. When our nervous system is exhausted, it cannot adequately respond to any, even the weakest stimulus, adaptation fails and, as a result, we plunge into a state of neurosis.
  • Hormonal failures. This can be observed during menstruation, menopause or pregnancy in women. Men can also have hormonal imbalances, but for different reasons.
  • Accumulated fatigue. It is especially often observed in people with a highly developed sense of responsibility, workaholics, and also in those who cannot balance the mode of work and rest.
  • Tendency to negative thinking. Often irritability is characteristic of people who are dissatisfied with their lives: relationships, work, environment.
  • Unhealthy Lifestyle. Alcohol, drugs, smoking adversely affect the entire body, and hence the nervous system. Physical inactivity can also be attributed to this category – when a person leads a sedentary lifestyle.
  • Lack of certain vitamins in the body. These can be B vitamins, as well as magnesium, iodine, zinc. To determine the deficiency, it will not be superfluous to pass the appropriate tests.
  • Experienced severe stress, which caused a failure of adaptation in humans.
  • Reaction to a specific person, which acts as an external irritant due to resentment, disappointment, anger and other toxic emotions in relation to him.

What will help us support ourselves and our body during a period of increased irritability?

  • A visit to a competent specialist, psychologist or psychotherapist who will help identify and eliminate the true causes of irritation.
  • A healthy lifestyle, the rejection of bad habits, adherence to diet, sleep and wakefulness, work and rest.
  • Balanced sports loads. The emphasis should be on exciting hobbies that bring joy and fill you with energy.
  • Organization of personal space in order to be able to be alone with yourself when necessary.
  • The use of healthy relaxation techniques, meditation practices, massage, spa treatments.
  • Communication with loved ones who give support, comfort, love.
  • The organization of unscheduled rest and “change of picture” will also benefit.

Summing up, I want to note that it is very important to pay attention to yourself and your problems. The more a person is sensitive to himself, the more actively he is ready to take care of himself in a given situation, the faster he will be able to study the causes of his irritability and get rid of it. And this will benefit not only himself, but also the people who surround him.
