Why can’t you keep empty jars in your home?
Make it a habit to immediately get rid of unnecessary containers.
There are many superstitions about housekeeping. What they did not know how to explain logically before were dressed in proverbs and sayings. Certain rules and prohibitions made life easier and safer. This also applied to glassware: fragile dishes could easily break and cause a lot of problems for the hostess.
By the way, the production of glassware has a very long history – in antiquity it was widely used. Cucumbers, of course, were not rolled into jars, but jugs, bowls, vessels and other transparent containers were available in many decent houses. In Russia, glassware of its own production appeared later, from about the XNUMXth century. Before that, wood, metal, clay were used.
So why is it considered that it is impossible to keep empty glass containers in the house?
Esotericists associate this with the destructive energy of emptiness: life will be the same, that is, poor, money will not be found in the house. It is not recommended to even put empty dishes on the table – first fill with something, then serve.
Empty containers symbolize meaninglessness, lack of content. The owners, who for years accumulate glass bottles unnecessarily, become limp, indecisive, weak.
Another interpretation says that empty cans attract unhappiness into the house. They say that relatives will begin to quarrel, the lovers will part, instead of friends, enemies will appear on the doorstep.
If the bank is cracked, expect troubles, illnesses. Especially careful to the dishes should be treated by those who are considered to be more vulnerable at the moment, deprived of strong energy: sick, pregnant women, children.
A wet jar must be placed upside down until it dries. You cannot leave a glass product with cracks, damage in the house, this attracts material difficulties.
But what folk wisdom advises to do with empty containers
In the old days, after the glassware was emptied, it had to be washed. Keeping a dirty container in your home is even worse than just emptying it. And it’s not just about sanitation and the prevention of disease-causing bacteria. It turns out that they used to think that the brownie would take offense otherwise and arrange petty dirty tricks on the owners. With evil spirits, patronizing the house, they tried to live in peace, so the utensils were kept clean.
Throw away what you don’t need. Believe me, if you leave all the jars of coffee, sauces, baby food, canned food, then they will accumulate pasture and a small cart. Even the most economical and practical owners do not need so many empty containers. Any rubbish complicates our life, does not allow something new, fresh to come. Get rid of extra jars without regret.
If you need glass jars for winter preparations, find a separate storage place for them: a shed, shelves on the balcony or in the closet. Store upside down. It is not worth keeping containers in a living room.
Another ancient folk tradition advises keeping banks closed so that evil spirits have nowhere to choose their place.
Let’s say that you borrowed a glass jar from someone and now you need to return it. Remember: empty dishes are not given away. Add candy, cookies, or berries to it.
It happens that in the kitchen, as they say, there should be free containers at hand. Folk wisdom advises not to keep them completely empty: it is better to fill them with cereals, beans, and medicinal herbs.
What other signs are there about empty glass jars?
When a full jar is broken, for example, with jam or milk, this is good. A small decline translates into large profits.
A container with salt is beating, according to legend, to a quarrel. True, this ancient omen has an explanation: in the Middle Ages, table salt was not such an affordable product as it is now, it was expensive, and households used it on special occasions, took care of it. Therefore, an awkward person who casually spilled salt was scolded, there was a quarrel.
It happens that, in a fit of anger, you accidentally touch glassware and break it. The shards must be thrown away immediately and the trash must be disposed of.
A good omen is to break the bank on Sunday, which means there will be an unexpected income or a gift.
