The plant relieves excessive irritability, relieves apathy and insomnia, and even improves mood. And also it is prescribed with an increased tone of the uterus to prevent premature birth.

Why can’t motherwort during pregnancy?

According to doctors, it is possible to take motherwort when carrying a child, but only after preliminary consultation. To protect themselves from any risks, drug manufacturers deliberately indicate pregnancy in the list of contraindications. And if motherwort is produced in the form of tablets, then it is not it that is harmful, but auxiliary components.

But motherwort still has contraindications:

  • the first trimester of pregnancy – by acting on smooth muscles, the drug can provoke a miscarriage;
  • low pressure;
  • slow heart rate;
  • lactation;
  • personal intolerance.

Pregnant women are not recommended to take motherwort tincture due to the presence of alcohol in it. It is better to give preference to decoctions of dried herbs.

In case of nervousness and heart failure during pregnancy, motherwort can be a real salvation. But you can drink it only after consulting a doctor, then you will only benefit the body without harmful consequences.
