The plant relieves excessive irritability, relieves apathy and insomnia, and even improves mood. And also it is prescribed with an increased tone of the uterus to prevent premature birth.
The list of useful properties is not exhaustive. The plant stops bleeding, relieves spasms, relieves skin irritation. Indeed, due to hormonal disruption, pregnant women are often nervous, worried about trifles, and angry with others. And in comparison with hawthorn and valerian, motherwort helps to calm down faster.
Why can’t motherwort during pregnancy?
According to doctors, it is possible to take motherwort when carrying a child, but only after preliminary consultation. To protect themselves from any risks, drug manufacturers deliberately indicate pregnancy in the list of contraindications. And if motherwort is produced in the form of tablets, then it is not it that is harmful, but auxiliary components.
But motherwort still has contraindications:
- the first trimester of pregnancy – by acting on smooth muscles, the drug can provoke a miscarriage;
- low pressure;
