Dishes made from beans and other legumes often cause flatulence – in other words, a person swells for an hour or two after eating beans. The reason for this is the content of oligosaccharides in beans, complex carbohydrates that are not digested by the human body. They cause the intestinal bacteria to work harder, which leads to increased gas production and complicates the digestive process. That is why you need to follow all the rules for cooking beans – so that there is definitely no flatulence.

For the future, in order to accurately eliminate flatulence and eat beans without the risk of discomfort, soak the beans for several hours before cooking. The oligosaccharides contained in beans dissolve under prolonged exposure to water, which is better to change several times during the soaking process, then drain and pour fresh for cooking. You need to cook beans for a long time on low heat; for easier assimilation, it is advisable to serve them with green vegetables. You can add dill to it, which also helps to reduce gas formation.
