On April 16, an order to cover the mouth and nose was introduced. It is obligatory for every person who leaves their house, apartment or home garden. Who is required to cover the mouth and nose?

The obligation to cover the mouth and nose was introduced on April 16, 2020. It does not oblige you to wear a face mask. The mouth and nose can also be covered with a handkerchief, scarf or scarf. This is to protect other people from eventualities coronavirus infection on the part of people passing COVID-19 asymptomatically.

This obligation applies to people:

  1. traveling in public transport vehicles, such as buses, subways or trams;
  2. in cars, when they travel with strangers with whom they do not live, such as neighbors, friends;
  3. moving on streets and squares – this group also includes people riding bikes and scooters;
  4. working in workplaces when they have contact with people from outside;
  5. in public buildings, such as schools, offices, hospitals, banks, etc .;
  6. in shops and markets;
  7. at service points;
  8. located in staircases, in elevators, laundries, or any other common area used by all residents of blocks.

Who is not required to cover the mouth and nose?

The order to cover the mouth and nose does not apply:

  1. children up to 4 years of age;
  2. people who suffer from breathing problems – there is no need to show a certificate or a certificate;
  3. people who, due to their health condition, are not able to put on and take off the mask on their own – there is no need to show a certificate or a certificate;
  4. people traveling by car together, if they live together;
  5. people driving the car with a child under 4;
  6. working people, if they have no contact with people from the outside – if they directly serve clients or clients, they must wear a mask;
  7. public transport drivers and private carriers, if they are properly fenced off from passengers;
  8. clergy performing religious rites;
  9. farmers at work on the farm;
  10. soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland and allied forces, officers of the Military Counterintelligence Service and the Military Intelligence Service, while performing their functions.

What can cover the mouth and nose?

It is worth remembering that the obligation to cover the mouth and nose does not determine what to cover the face, so it does not have to be a protective mask. You can also cover your face with a scarf, handkerchief, neckerchief or any other element of your outfit. However, it is worth knowing what to look for and which material to choose.

Remember!

It is important that the mask adheres well to the face and at the same time is comfortable to wear and allows breathing. We should also remember that reusable masks should be washed after each use.

  1. from cotton;
  2. made of cotton and elastane;
  3. from cotton with linen;
  4. of flax;
  5. made of polyester;
  6. made of viscose mixed with polyester;
  7. from polyamide fabrics with polyester;
