Who came up with the idea of adding cognac to coffee and what proportion should be

I recently met my neighbor, said hello, and she looks at me so strangely and says: “You look bad,” and I thought about it and answered, “Probably a lot of work, I don’t get enough sleep.”

She uttered “Coffee with cognac at night and forget it” and went about her business. Her words made me think, but I’m not looking for easy ways, I decided to figure out what kind of miraculous drink this is.

What effect does coffee with cognac have

A hot invigorating coffee drink with a spoonful of cognac does not greatly affect the average person. But for people with hypertension, other chronic diseases, not only with cognac, but in general, in general, caffeine will not benefit.

So, if everything is in order, then on a cold winter evening or after a hard day at work, or perhaps if you are cold or wet in the rain, this hot warming drink is what you need.

Of the conditionally useful properties, the following can be distinguished:

  • general improvement in the state of the body;
  • increase in working capacity;
  • improving concentration and memory for a short time;
  • improvement of mood, which is especially important in depressive seasons;
  • helps to sleep well after a busy day at work;

Important: coffee with cognac is not a panacea, it is an alcoholic drink, so you should not drink it to get rid of diseases. All the positive qualities of the drink kill the harm caused by alcohol.

Who should not drink coffee with cognac

As I have already noted, in order to drink coffee drinks with alcohol, you need to be in good health. But there are such categories of people for whom, even with good health, such coffee is contraindicated. This:

  1. Children and teenagers up to 18 years old. Everything is simple here. Alcohol is not allowed until the age of 18, because it is forbidden by law, and it will not give anything good to the developing organism. Coffee is also not allowed for children because it affects the development of the heart, well, if only Latte with a lot of milk, and then at the age of 12 years.
  2. Pregnant and lactating women. The benefits of a baby growing in her arms and in her stomach will be very doubtful if the mother drinks coffee with alcohol. It has a negative effect and can cause malformations of the nervous and cardiovascular systems. Only a doctor can allow coffee, without alcohol, of course, and even then in some cases.
  3. Hypertension. This drink is contraindicated for patients with hypertension, since after a slight increase in pressure, a sharp decline occurs in about 30-40 minutes. Such training for the heart muscle and blood vessels is not very useful, since in hypertensive patients their condition is unsatisfactory.

In general, that’s all. Let’s add here chronic diseases and taking medications that are incompatible with alcohol or caffeine, and we conclude that there are not many people who should not drink coffee with a spoonful of cognac.

How to choose cognac for a coffee variety

For the first time, coffee with cognac began to be consumed in France, but there was a separate coffee and a glass of French cognac. As a rule, they used this drink as a completion of breakfast. Then they began to mix brandy with the drink itself, added sugar, cream, tinctures, but, over time, only one recipe remained – a mug of coffee and a little brandy in it.

So, I think, if this drink was invented in France, then cognac should be real French, because only the French know a lot about its production, as they themselves say.

Important: Cognacs such as: Courvoisier (Courvoisier), Martell (Martel), Bisquit (Biscuit) are ideal for hot drinks.

Not everything is simple with coffee itself. Do not mix alcohol with instant coffee. Get fast food without effect. Coffee is better to take grain, real, fragrant. Ideally Italian or Kenyan.

It is better to brew a drink in a Turk, with the addition of a small amount of sugar and cinnamon. Then add cognac to the slightly cooled coffee.

What proportions are best done in coffee with cognac

The ideal and correct combination would be to take 200 ml of water. Pour it into the Turk. Add 1-2 teaspoons of ground coffee. Brew coffee over low heat. Pour the finished drink into a cup, preferably made of porcelain, not a plastic cup. So it’s more effective.

Only after that add 10-20 ml of cognac, and this is the same tablespoon in volume. For those who like a softer drink, you can also add cream.

Excessive alcohol consumption is harmful to your health. Take care of yourself!

I prepared this drink for myself, sat comfortably in an armchair, drank while reading the evening paper, and then slept so well that I involuntarily thanked my neighbor for such advice. But, I decided to resort to this method to relax infrequently. I think 1-2 times a week will be fine, what do you think?
