White Row (Tricholoma album) photo and description

Hat: hat diameter 6-10 cm. The surface of the fungus is grayish-white in color, always dry and dull. In the middle, the cap of old mushrooms has a yellowish-brown color and is covered with ocher spots. At first, the cap has a convex shape with a wrapped edge, later it acquires an open, convex shape.

Leg: the stem of the mushroom is dense, the color of the cap, but with age it becomes yellowish-brown at the base. Leg length 5-10 cm. Towards the base, the leg expands slightly, elastic, sometimes with a powdery coating.

Records: the plates are frequent, wide, white at first, slightly yellowish with the age of the fungus.

Spore powder: white.

Pulp: the pulp is thick, fleshy, white. In places of fracture, the flesh turns pink. In young mushrooms, the pulp is practically odorless, then an unpleasant musty smell appears, similar to the smell of a radish.

The mushroom is inedible due to a strong unpleasant odor. The taste is pungent, burning. According to some sources, the mushroom belongs to poisonous species.

White rowing grows in dense forests, in large groups. Also found in parks and groves. The white color of the row makes the mushroom look like champignons, but not darkening light plates, a strong pungent smell and a burning pungent taste distinguish the white row from champignons.

The white row is also similar to another inedible mushroom of the tricholome species – the stinky row, in which the hat is white with shades of brown, the plates are rare, the leg is long. The fungus also has an unpleasant smell of lighting gas.
