Vodka made according to traditional Russian recipes has become popular due to the original design in the national style and the presence of natural birch sap in the recipe. Connoisseurs consider it the reason for the pleasant aroma and mild taste of the drink. Sometimes in the press the brand is called “the most sincere Russian vodka” because of the company’s slogan – “Nature of the Russian soul.”
Historical reference. The brand belongs to the “Alcohol Siberian Group” (ASG), whose production volume for 2017 exceeded 4 million gave, or decaliters. In addition to White Birch, the company owns 3 more vodka brands – Sibbiter, Husky and Five Lakes. Moreover, the “five lakes” according to the journal Drinks International and the rating of Millionaires Club 2017 – the world’s most-selling vodka of Russian production.
The company owns two distilleries: Omskvinprom, which has been operating in Siberia since 1993, and the Ruza Blending Plant, which began operations in 2016, in the Moscow region.
Omskvinprom is a powerful enterprise with a production potential of 17 million decaliters per year. Performance provide workshops for bottling with Italian lines, allowing to fill 18 thousand bottles per hour.
In August 2014, they released two limited editions of vodka for export.
“White Birch Palekh” (40%). The bottle is painted with tamper paints in the style of Palekh caskets — on a black background with gold, which, according to the designers, emphasizes the premium status of the brand. (Palekh is a village in the Ivanovo region, famous for icon painters and masters of artistic painting).
“White birch Gzhel” (40%). In the design of the bottle, the traditional picture of the winter village is made in the style of Gzhelev ceramics – soft blue patterns on a white background. (Gzhel is a Russian folk craft for the production of ceramics, porcelain and painting products, consists of 27 villages and is located 60 kilometers from Moscow).
At the same time, the content of bottles remains unchanged – the same classical “Russian Birch”, just in the new design design.
In 2016, the brand was completely redesigned: “White Birch” was presented in a new form. The main emphasis is on the shape of the bottle with a concave lens through which the consumer can see the winter landscape. The decor has also been changed and the cork has been updated. The author of the new look was the designer Yevgeny Razumov, who commented on the changes as “the desire to comply with the spirit of the times.”
Types of vodka “White birch”
“White Birch Classic” (40%). Soft vodka from alcohol “Lux” has a light sweetish aroma and a pleasant taste with notes of birch sap. It goes well with Russian cuisine, pickles, meats. It can be served with lemon and become a component of an alcoholic cocktail.
“White Birch Frosty Cranberry” (40%). At the heart of the drink is the same alcohol “Lux”, unchanged for the brand, and natural birch sap. But in this case, the recipe also contains an infusion of cranberries, which were harvested after the first frosts, which ensured the fullness of taste, slight sweetness and barely noticeable sourness. Thanks to cranberries, a characteristic aroma and a very pleasant subtle aftertaste appeared. The drink is recommended for serving chilled, goes well with meat dishes and game.
“White birch Golden” (40%). In a bottle with a concave lens and a voluminous autumn landscape of a Russian village, a drink, in the recipe of which, in addition to Lux alcohol and birch sap, there is honey and sea buckthorn juice. Therefore, the taste of vodka turned out to be rich, soft and pleasant. The drink is served with meat and fish dishes, pickles and pickled mushrooms, used in alcoholic cocktails.
