“Scotch whiskey from Tatarstan” – such an ironic nickname was given to the drink “Your Choice” by its few fans.
In fact, the product has nothing to do with real scotch: it is made from rye alcohol, and not at all from malt, as one might assume.

History of the brand
The original drink is produced by the Tatspirtprom joint-stock company, which has been present on the Russian alcohol market since 1997. The structure of the company includes 6 factories engaged in the production of vodka, wine, cognac, champagne and other types of alcohol.
The Your Choice brand was introduced to the consumer court in 2015. The technology was developed by local specialists with the help of European colleagues. The method of making rye whiskey was taken as the basis.
They make a blended drink in accordance with the “high standards” of quality, the guarantee of which is an individual serial number assigned to each bottle.
What is Your Choice whiskey made of?
The main component of the Tatarstan “whiskey” is alcohol from rye of the “Lux” class, which is ennobled by infusion in oak barrels.
The number of aging cycles depends on the category of the drink: “Your Choice 3” is in contact with French wood three times, “Your Choice 5” – 5 times, respectively.
The steeping time improves the characteristics of the product: the “mature” version boasts a darker shade and a richer bouquet.
The manufacturer describes the drink as “having a rich amber color and a mild sweetish taste with hints of spice and smoke, comparable to the characteristics of the best varieties of Scotch whiskey.” Consumers note the presence in the bouquet of pronounced alcoholic tones with a slight hint of prunes, cereals and oak.
The strength of the drink is standard for whiskey: 40%.
They produce “Your Choice” in glass bottles of 0,5 and 0,7 liters.
It is better to drink it as part of cocktails, in its pure form the taste of the drink is too sharp and resembles vodka.
