History of the Sir Edwards brand

The first bottle of Sir Edward’s was released in 1891 at a small Scottish distillery, today owned by the Bardine family.

Long before acquiring the popular brand, the French spirits corporation effectively brought Negrita rum to the international market. The success of the drink was so grandiose that the owners of the company decided to replenish the assortment with several more types of alcohol: punch, liqueurs, brandy, cocktails. A little later, blended scotch appeared among the company’s products, the release of which was organized in the very heart of Scotland.

The art of mixing ingredients and creating new flavors has always been the passion of the Bardine family. The founder of the corporation devoted every free minute to him. However, in the production of adhesive tape, it was decided to adhere to the old local traditions. The technology was supplemented only by triple distillation, unusual for the Scots.

In 2011, the drink, which is the perfect balance of grain and malt components, won the second prize at the International Whiskey Masters Awards.
