The History of Scottish Collie Whiskey

Firm “William Grant & Sons” began its journey in 1887 with a small family distillery in the valley of the river Fiddich and has grown into a large company that combines several high-performance factories.

Among the best products of the legendary family: the outstanding blend “Grants” in triangular bottles, as well as the single malts “Glenfiddich” and “The Balvenie” known to every connoisseur.

A less celebrated sample from the “Grant” collection – Scottish Collie whiskey – is blended and bottled at a subsidiary of Quality Spirits International. The company, founded in the 90s, is engaged not only in mixing and bottling scotch, but also other drinks: gin, bourbon, brandy. The production capacity of QSI allows to produce up to 12 million cases of alcohol annually.

The malt components for the creation of the Scottish Collie blend are sourced from the best distilleries in Speyside, and the grains are sourced from Lowland.

According to the legends, in its name the drink immortalized the memory of a devoted friend of William Grant. It is said that the faithful collie more than once rescued the famous distiller and even saved the company’s warehouses from the attack of robbers. According to other sources, the owner of the famous dog was the poet Robert Burns, whose poems were highly appreciated by the creator of great brands.
