Driving license – what tests do you need to do?

To obtain such entitlements, you first need to have your eyesight, hearing, locomotor system, cardiovascular system and nervous system checked. The applicant driver should be checked for obstructive sleep apnea, kidney failure, diabetes mellitus and symptoms suggestive of alcohol dependence or abuse. Moreover, according to the regulation, an assessment of the mental state is necessary.
Driving license applicant must complete and sign a detailed questionnaire about your health condition, as well as submit a statement that in the event of a seizure, epilepsy or hypoglycaemia (hypoglycaemia), he will reapply for medical examinations.
If the doctor conducting the tests determines that additional diagnostics or assessment of the severity of disease symptoms is needed, he or she may refer the patient for consultation to a specialist doctor or psychologist.

Driving license – contraindications
Contraindications for obtaining a driving license vary depending on the group of drivers. In group 1, drivers of vehicles of categories A, A1, A2, AM, B, B1 and BE, and in group 2, drivers of vehicles of categories C, CE, C1, C1E, D, D1, DE and D1E.
Sight
Group 1 drivers must have binocular visual acuity not less than 0,5 (corrected if necessary) and a field of view of at least 120 degrees. In group 2, visual acuity of 0,8 is required for the better eye and at least 0,1 for the weaker eye (with correction, if necessary, which must not exceed ± 8 diopter). Additional requirements for group 2 are correct stereoscopic and twilight vision, no diplopia, sensitivity to glare and contrast, and correct color recognition. The binocular field of view should be at least 160 degrees.
Hearing
Hearing loss is not a contraindication to driving vehicles in group 1, but may make it impossible for drivers in group 2 to obtain a driving license. worm).
Locomotor system
In the case of dysfunction of the motor system, the doctor assesses whether the irregularities may pose a threat to the driver and other road users. If they pose a risk, they are a contraindication to obtaining a driving license.
Cardiovascular and respiratory systems

People with mental disorders can apply for a driving license, but the condition is to present a positive opinion of the attending physician. Contraindications include, among others mental retardation and severe behavioral and personality disorders.
Addiction to alcohol and psychotropic substances
Alcohol dependence makes it impossible to obtain a driving license. You can apply for them after at least one year of abstinence. The condition is to remain under the therapist’s constant control. Regardless of the driving license category, addiction to psychotropic substances is also a contraindication.
