Where to keep money

Where to keep money

According to statistics, Russians hide their values here, and burglars check these places first of all. Woman`s Day tells where you shouldn’t keep money and valuables.

No. 1. Furniture, musical instruments

26% of Russians use wardrobes, walls, dressers, desks, bedside tables, and pianos to store the most valuable things.

No. 2. Video, audio and household appliances

It will be joy to the thieves when they find such a pleasant bonus in the form of your long-term savings in the equipment taken out of the apartment …

No. 3. Mirrors, paintings, carpets

Carpets hanging on the wall, mirrors, paintings and framed photographs – these are the items thieves examine first.

26% of Russians in the old fashioned way continue to keep money and gold in socks, in the pockets of their jackets, hanging on a hanger, between sets of bed linen. But in vain!

It is enough to watch any gangster series, where apartment searches begin precisely from the bookshelves, to stop keeping money between the pages of books and in a stack of CDs, but 20% of our compatriots, apparently, do not watch these series …

Only at first glance it seems like a good choice – yes, of course, it is not so easy to open the tank, but the statistics are relentless: thieves will start this occupation without wasting time.

10% of Russians are sure that thieves will certainly not get that far … And they are wrong.

Sleeping on gold may be quiet, but statistics do not advise leaving it under a mattress unattended for the whole day (7% of respondents use this home cache).

6% of Russians hide valuables in kitchen appliances or utensils (remember where Senya Gorbunkov’s wife got a pistol from in the movie “The Diamond Hand”?).

Safes built into the floor or walls are the safest hiding places. Thieves are the last to find them. However, only 4% of Russians think about installing them.

For storing valuables, there is “tricky” furniture with secret sections: dressers with a double bottom, secret compartments in cupboards, legs and backs of chairs. Of course, hacking and sawing such devices will not be difficult, but the safety of things here is based on the principle “if they do not find it, they will not steal it.” Quite effective, by the way.
