The night and holiday health care offices are responsible for basic medical assistance at weekends, holidays, evenings and at night – reminds the National Health Fund. In the event of a sudden threat to life, help is provided by admission rooms or hospital emergency departments. The National Health Fund also explains what to do when we are concerned that our condition is caused by a coronavirus infection.

Medical assistance at night, weekends and holidays, testing for SARS-CoV-2

The National Health Fund indicates that at night, on weekends and holidays, i.e. outside the working hours of the Primary Healthcare clinic, you can use the First Contact Teleplatform. You have to call the toll-free number 800 137 200 or complete the online form.

If you suspect that your poor health is due to the coronavirus, enroll in a COVID-19 test. You can do it online by completing the qualification form at gov.pl/dom

The survey consists of several questions concerning e.g. contacts with people infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus and symptoms that may indicate the developing disease. The answers will help you determine if there is a risk you may have contracted the coronavirus.

When it turns out that we should perform a diagnostic test, you can arrange an interview with a Home Medical Care consultant (phone number 22 735 39 40)who will order the test or enroll in a smear online using a trusted profile. You can also sign up for the test.

A patient referred for a coronavirus detection test can perform it free of charge at any swab collection point. There are nearly 500 of them.

Help in the event of a sudden threat to health and life

In the event of a sudden threat to health or life, help is provided by emergency departments or hospital emergency departments. If you suspect that your poor health may be caused by the coronavirus, report your symptoms before contacting HED or emergency room staff.

In imminent danger, you can get emergency medical help by calling 999 or 112. It is important that, as in any case when we suspect a coronavirus infection, inform the dispatcher who accepts the report about it.

The National Health Fund reminds that consultants of Patient Telephone Information are available at all times.

By calling 800 190 590, free of charge and around the clock, you can obtain the necessary information on how to deal with coronavirus infection. The National Health Fund ensures that consultants will also advise where the nearest night and holiday health care point is located and how to contact the hospital.
