Mushroom mushroom season lasts from July to September. These mushrooms occupy a leading position in nutritional value among tubular varieties. The yield of mushrooms is very high, mushrooms do not grow alone, but form colonies covering vast areas. Most of Perm is covered with coniferous and mixed forests, which are considered an ideal place for mushrooms to grow. Ryzhik in the Perm region is collected massively for winter harvesting and for commercial purposes.
Where mushrooms grow in the Perm Territory
Ryzhik can be divided into two conditional groups, one is in symbiosis with pines, and the second – with spruces. Mushrooms appear in low forests next to young conifers, whose height does not exceed 5 m. They grow in large and small groups, more often they can be found on the north side of the tree. They prefer sandy soil. The main accumulation is observed on moss or coniferous litter. The colony can be found among the low grass on the edge or forest sunny meadow. Often young specimens are difficult to see among the grass, mushroom pickers recommend paying attention to small mounds, under which red hats are visible. Mushrooms also grow in fields with rare young pines.
You should not waste time looking for mushrooms in a coniferous forest in shady and humid places: they will not be in such areas, because good lighting and dry soil are necessary for fruiting bodies.

When to collect mushrooms in Perm
The beginning of the mushroom picking season in Perm depends on the summer weather. In the warm season, the first harvest is in July. Mass collection occurs in August and the first half of September. If the autumn is warm, mushrooms are also found in October, but there are not many of them. Only young specimens are recommended to pick, more mature ones are usually damaged by insect larvae.
The main composition of mushrooms is protein, late specimens age quickly, and when decomposed, the protein releases toxins. Experienced mushroom pickers are also advised to skip the first early wave. The yield during this period is negligible. July in Perm rarely happens with heavy rains, so mushrooms accumulate toxic substances from the soil and air. At the end of summer, it will rain and the mushrooms of the second wave will become absolutely safe.
