Where does the energy go? Causes, consequences and methods of struggle
Together with an expert, we figure out what to do when it seems that the forces are already at the limit.

We need energy literally for everything and throughout life. But its education requires resources and time. This is a paradox that each of us faces: in childhood we have energy and time, but no resources; in youth there are resources and energy, but there is no time; in old age there are resources and time, but energy is no longer enough.
The main task of a person is to have energy throughout the entire path. But what if you feel like your reserves are already depleted? Let’s figure it out!
What is energy and where does it come from?
Energy, unfortunately, is not a magical thing – it cannot appear out of nowhere and disappear into emptiness. That is why, in order for us to always have it, it must be taken from certain sources. So, life energy consists of two types: physical and spiritual (psychological).
Physical energy form all the resources that enter our body. These include:
nutrition (for example, proteins, fats and carbohydrates from food are broken down into molecules and atoms, being converted, firstly, into glucose, and secondly, into fatty acids. It is these key products that provide energy);
air;
Environment.
The elements they give us are the producers of energy. So, another important element in the body, without which we would not have energy, are mitochondria… These are tiny components of the cell that produce a special ATP molecule that provides energy for all cell reactions, supporting most of its functions. Their uniqueness lies in the fact that, no matter how we think, they do not know how to accumulate energy, to store it. The body requires constant replenishment of energy, and when it is lacking, an energy deficit occurs. This is exactly the problem that everyone wants to avoid at any age.
What is the threat of energy shortage?
Feeling a lack of energy can be a manifestation of many diseases and conditions, such as:
anemia (iron deficiency and other anemias);
nutritional deficiencies (deficiency of vitamins, especially vitamin D, and trace elements);
chronic fatigue syndrome (“adrenal fatigue syndrome”);
infectious diseases (especially viral infections);
oncological diseases;
hormonal disorders;
mitochondrial dysfunction.
If treatment is not started on time, prolonged energy deficiency can lead to the development of chronic diseases and complications.
How to deal with energy shortages?
Fortunately, the problem of energy deficiency can be solved – you should follow simple tips.
1. It is necessary to establish the regime and balance of nutrition.
It should be regular, correct, with a sufficient amount of the elements we need, including the “right” fatty acids. That is why the diet should contain fish, oils (olive and butter), nuts, beans. It is also worth adding more foods containing vitamins B and C. These include green leafy vegetables, carrots, beets, spinach, apples, citrus fruits, grapes, and more.
In addition to making changes in your diet, you can also make some changes in your eating habits. For example, intermittent fasting also stimulates mitochondrial function. Therefore, periodic calorie restriction and fasting will also effectively restart the body’s energy production processes.
2. Stimulate the release of energy through physiotherapy.
A cryosauna, an infrared sauna, hypoxia and hyperoxytherapy, phototherapy and a pressure chamber will help to “invigorate” the mitochondria.
The most accessible and popular way is through regular sports. Regular physical activity activates all processes, saturates cells with oxygen, gives a feeling of endless energy and vigor.
When should you contact a specialist?
If a person feels that a feeling of constant fatigue has appeared, which was not typical for him earlier (for example, he continues to work in the same mode and with the same intensity, but this load is already perceived by him as excessive), it is worth contacting a specialist. Or if the feeling of fatigue does not go away after rest (sufficient sleep, weekend, vacation).
The purpose of going to a doctor should be preventive in order to prevent the development of this condition and to prevent it in time. A specialist can determine the initial signs of many diseases even in the absence of symptoms and complaints from the patient.
Opinion of a psychotherapist
Depression can also be a cause of lack of energy.

If you show signs of a decrease in energy potential, mental tone for most of the day for more than 2 weeks, but when you see a general practitioner, no somatic abnormalities that cause this condition have been identified, it is important to rule out the presence of depression.
The main depressive unconscious defense is denial. This may be one of the reasons why a person is not aware of his condition and does not seek help. It is important here to assess the degree and severity of symptoms. For this purpose, it is better to seek the advice of a psychotherapist.
Timely assistance provided can prevent the development and exacerbation of psychosomatic conditions such as frequent ARVI, bronchial asthma, chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer and many others. Chronic stress and anxiety as a result can lead to compulsive overeating and excess weight. It is important here to take a comprehensive approach to solving the problem. Find out triggers (hook events from the past that hinder us), find mechanisms for relaxation and self-healing, undergo psychotherapy, sometimes drug support.
