The editorial office of concrete24.pl has compiled data on deaths in October broken down into poviats. It turns out that the greatest increase in mortality took place in the poviats of the Podkarpackie Province. As many as eight out of 20 poviats that recorded an increase are located in this voivodship.

Over 50 thousand deaths in October
According to the data of the Ministry of Digitization, 54 death certificates were issued in October this year. A year earlier, in the same period, there were 890 38 deaths. Konret24 decided to break down the data on deaths into specific provinces and counties. According to statistics, in October 2020 in each voivodship there was a significant increase in the number of deaths compared to the same period a year earlier.
In the Podkarpackie Province, deaths were as high as 84 percent. more, 65 percent in Małopolska more and in Świętokrzyskie – 61 percent. more. The lowest increase was in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship – 17 percent. What does the situation look like if we look at individual poviats?
Most people die in the poviats of the Podkarpackie Province
On the basis of data from the Ministry of Digitization, the Konret24 website determined that only in 22 poviats (out of 380) there were no more deaths year on year. There were fewer of them in 20, and in two they remained at the same level as in the previous year.
Among the 20 poviats in Poland with the highest percentage increase in deaths in October 2020, there are:
- Bieruńsko-Lędziński poviat (Silesia) – 373 percent
- Bieszczady poviat (Podkarpackie) – 360 percent
- Ropczycko-Sędziszowski poviat (Subcarpathian Voivodeship) – 252 percent

- Siedlce poviat (Masovian Voivodeship) – 186 percent
- Strzyżów district (Subcarpathian Voivodeship) – 180 percent
- Chełm poviat (Lubelskie) – 173 percent
- Gostyniński poviat (Masovian Voivodeship) – 167 percent
- Dębicki Poviat (Subcarpathian Voivodeship) – 161 percent

Eight out of 20 poviats are located in the Podkarpackie Province.
The largest increase in deaths year on year in Warsaw
As for cities with poviat status, the highest year-on-year increase in mortality was recorded in Warsaw (569 more deaths), Kraków (+425) and Poznań (367). The following places are:
