Where can I take used batteries
Where can I drop off the batteries
When you cannot limit yourself to using devices that use light or electrical energy, you have to face the problem of getting rid of old batteries. It is recommended to do this:
• do not throw them away with ordinary waste, but take them to special collection points (if available in the city);
• put such waste in plastic bottles, cans or ordinary bags in a place protected from the sun and out of the reach of children, do not store at home;
• install containers for collecting batteries on your street or place of work;
• If possible, transport used batteries to European countries, where special containers are allocated for them.
In large cities of Russia, there are points for the processing of recyclable materials, where such goods are accepted from the population. The problem of where to return the batteries is often faced by residents of smaller places. Often, used batteries and mercury lamps are received by management companies serving the residential area, as well as by branches of federal stores of household appliances and electronics.
Only a small number of shops and scrap metal points are ready to collect hazardous waste. In this case, you should think about the choice of rechargeable batteries (more expensive in price, but worth 400 conventional batteries) or those with a long life.
Even with the most modest financial possibilities, it is worth making every effort to ensure that hazardous waste does not threaten the environment and human health.
