Natalya Boldyreva, a specialist at the Moscow Service for Psychological Aid to the Population, said that there is no need to rush to decorate the house.
“It is better to postpone the decoration of your home, your personal space for the New Year to mid-December, not earlier, so that by the holiday itself the festive atmosphere does not become familiar and does not have time to get bored,” the psychologist quotes the City News Agency “
And if you don’t have the strength to wait for the holiday and you want to somehow bring it closer? Okay then, decorate the house. But little by little, not all at once. Leave the most joyful garlands and toys that are guaranteed to cheer up until the very end of the year. As well as important family rituals: for example, to put a star on the very top of the tree or to pull out the figures of Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden. This will help maintain and enhance the holiday feeling. By the way, most of us complain about the lack of New Year’s mood – they say, the holiday is already on the nose, and not felt!
“To enhance the New Year’s mood, you can start summing up some of the results of the outgoing year, remembering even your smallest achievements,” the psychologist advises.
Well, the tree should be decorated right 31 December, on the eve of the main night of the year.
“Thus, creating the necessary anticipation,” – clarifies Natalia Boldyreva.
The only thing that should not be put off until later is buying gifts for loved ones. Firstly, you will not be in time, and secondly, in the New Year’s commotion, the choice will already be limited.
