When to peel apples?
Apple peel is edible and can be used in baked goods and jam recipes without peeling. But sometimes the structure of the dish needs to be softened as much as possible, and then the peel is peeled off – cutting off with a thin layer over the entire surface of the apple, it is convenient to do this with a knife for peeling vegetables. Then the apples will be completely softened during cooking and the usual apple crunch will not remain in the cake at all.
For blanks, it is sometimes extremely important that the apple slices remain intact – for example, when cooking apple jam, housewives consciously prefer a slight hardness of the jam, which is provided precisely by the peel. Another example – when spinning apples for the winter as a whole, if you peel off the peel, the apples will fall apart and precipitate – this effect spoils the taste and aesthetics of the dish. In this case, it is also better not to peel the apples.
When choosing the option, to peel the peel or not, consider the variety of apples – it is better to peel sour varieties, and if apples fall apart during cooking even in an unpeeled form, you should choose a recipe for just such apples.
By the way, do not throw away the peel later – it is excellent to cook compote from it.
