How to dose Tiapridal?

Tiapridal comes as tablets that are white and round, with “T100” on one side. The most frequently administered amount is 200 mg daily for one to two months. The first dose of the drug is administered in the amount of 50 mg, 2 times a day. The daily dose should not exceed 300 mg per day.

The amount administered depends on the condition and disease of the patient.

Who should not take Tiapridal?

This medicine should not be taken by people who are allergic to any of its ingredients. The drug should not be used in parallel with levodopa and when the patient suffers from a phaeochromocytoma. A person suffering from a prolactin dependent tumor is also excluded from taking this substance.

Tiapridal, and taking other medications

Tiapridal must not be taken together with alcohol. It should not be combined with drugs for barricardia, with class 1a and class 3 antiarrhythmic drugs, and with drugs such as methadone, depressants, pentamidine, lithium, sultopride, haloperidol, thioridazine.

When taking Tiapridal, it should be taken into account whether the patient is receiving morphine derivatives, anti-edema drugs or clonidine.

Tiapridal, pregnancy and breastfeeding

Treatment of pregnant and lactating women with Tiapridal should be under close medical supervision. As far as pregnant women are concerned, the studies conducted so far have not shown any negative effects on the fetus.

Studies also show that the agent may pass into breast milk, so it is not recommended to administer the drug to breastfeeding mothers.

Abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting can also occur.
