You don’t want to wear a mask? Or maybe you even think that the coronavirus is a fabrication? Believe me, I wish SARS-CoV-2 were gone. But the coronavirus is real. A brutal reality in which a person dies every 22 seconds somewhere in the world due to COVID-19 – writes Anna Zimny-Zając, editor-in-chief of Medonet.

You don’t wear a mask. Either you wear it under your nose or on your chin. You feel that social distance does not concern you. You can’t deny yourself a party or a meeting in a large group.

  1. Because it’s more convenient.
  2. Because you like to rebel.
  3. Because that’s what your friends or family do.
  4. Because you are healthy and you feel great.
  5. Because you don’t know anyone who’s been infected.
  6. Because you say the government is lying.
  7. Because.

Or maybe you even think that the coronavirus is a fabrication?

Believe me, I wish SARS-CoV-2 were gone. But the coronavirus is real.

Brutal reality in which every 22 seconds somewhere in the world because of COVID-19 a man dies. (This means that by the time you finish reading this, the coronavirus will kill another six people.)

A reality where, for the first time in many years, a new player appears among the 10 most deadly diseases in the world – COVID-19. A disease that has almost overtaken tuberculosis in a deadly ranking – 10th killer of the world, which takes about 1,3 million lives annually – and we still have a few months until the end of the year.

A reality where COVID-19 has already killed at least 2 times as many people worldwide as seasonal flu, with some estimates as high as a fourfold copy.

A reality in which if someone was lucky and cured of COVID-19 for many years to come serious health problems due to complications.

A reality in which people who do not suffer from COVID-19 die prematurely because hospitals are overcrowded due to the enormity of coronavirus infections, ambulances do not arrive on time or do not receive the treatment they need on time.

Do you still think this problem does not apply to you? That the prohibitions and orders introduced by the government, often ineptly and without setting a good example, are out of spite?

May you change your mind. May you change your mind. Because when one of your loved ones dies from the coronavirus, it will be too late.
