The woman observes a slight increase in the mammary glands, the sensitivity in the nipple area increases, and slight painful sensations may appear. How does your chest hurt during pregnancy? In most cases, it pours and pulls. The nature of the pain in each woman is individual, someone does not notice discomfort at all, and for someone these symptoms are quite pronounced.
By the 10-14th week of pregnancy, discharge from the nipples can be observed. The color of healthy discharge should be light, white or transparent, without any admixture of pus or blood.
- 2 trimester.
During the second trimester, the breasts continue to grow in size. As a rule, pregnant women have to change several sizes of bras during gestation. Care should be taken when choosing underwear to reduce the risk of sagging breasts and stretch marks. The bra must be fitted exactly to the size, it must not squeeze the breasts and at the same time must support well. It is best to choose sports models with wide straps, but it is better to refuse bras with underwire.
Pain symptoms may worsen or stop altogether. Unpleasant sensations can occur when bending over, playing sports, or after intense household chores.
- 3 trimester.
The last stage of pregnancy is characterized by the release of a small amount of colostrum, the mammary glands are actively preparing for childbirth and feeding the baby. The nipples darken, small bumps appear on the areola, according to the scientific “Montgomery glands”, producing a special secret, the smell of which can be caught by a newborn. The idea of nature is that the baby, from the first minute of birth, knows where his mother’s milk is, and with the help of olfactory receptors, he can quickly learn to breastfeed.
Naturally, there is also pathological breast tenderness during gestation: during mastopathy, lactostasis, oncological formations, nipple cracks, etc. In case of intense pain, you should consult a doctor.
