what you can’t buy in supermarkets
And on the market – it is possible and necessary. Please take it and eat it for health.
We emphasize right away that we are not talking about products that should not be purchased and consumed anywhere and never – for example, chips or sweet soda (although here it is up to you to decide, we just strongly do not recommend it). We are now talking about products that in themselves do not pose a danger (unless you have contraindications or allergies), and their quality deteriorates solely due to falling into large stores. We sometimes do not even suspect about their hidden harm. Or we guess, but do not attach importance. Judge for yourself.
The fact is that recently it began to be sold in supermarkets, mostly washed and packaged. This is by far the most favorable environment for bacteria that cause intestinal diseases to grow. And if the salad is not washed, but lies on the shelf of the refrigerator, then it lies there, as a rule (you probably noticed it yourself), for a long time. Some leaves have already withered, or even rotted.
Another thing is the market, where the salad is carefully placed on wooden counters and well ventilated. Remember, at least once in your life was it sold to you stale or leaked, because someone had washed and packed it before? So we will not remember this either.
And also all, without exception, products containing them – chocolates with nuts, nougat with nuts, muesli with nuts, cakes with nuts, mixtures of dried fruits with nuts and where they are added there. The fact is that the shelf life of such factory-made products, as it is right, is extremely long, which means that the nuts inside will be very, very old. And in old nuts, especially walnuts, a poisonous enzyme is formed, which can have rather bad consequences for the body, up to and including oncology. Therefore, we warn you to take nuts in packages in the store for a snack: you cannot know their real age, because the date of their packaging can also be considered the date of production on the package. Don’t risk it.
Another thing is the market where they are sold by weight, where you can smell them, touch them, check if they have darkened, if they are bitter. If desired, you can add nuts yourself to almost all of the above snacks.
Not in tea leaves, but ready-to-eat – in bottles. Just get a grasp of the composition: it seems that in front of you is a bottle with a healthy cool drink, but in fact, there are only preservatives and flavorings. We will be very surprised if the tea itself is included in the composition. In terms of its qualities, this drink is not far from the most harmful sweet soda, but so far it manages to disguise itself as a good one.
Another thing is the market where, you will be surprised, they sell real bottled tea. It is prepared for employees who also need something to drink during the working day, but no one will refuse to sell you a liter or two.
It’s the same here: a lot of stabilizers and other taste enhancers that you don’t need are added to the factory ones.
Another thing is the market, where meat is directly from the manufacturer, and there is also an opportunity to ask to cut off exactly as much as needed. And you won’t have to overpay for cutting, while in stores, ready-made slices, of course, are higher in the price of a whole piece.
5. Pastries with fruit filling
Croissants, buns with berries inside look very appetizing. However, there are fruit fillings inside, convenient for production and sale. Thanks to thickeners, they are not absorbed into the dough and do not deteriorate longer. But you won’t find real berries in them.
Another thing is the market, where such delicious pies are sold in the heat of the heat by an equally ruddy granny, who has never had this chemistry. Moreover, her pastries are always hot, and not always cold, as in the store.
Fragrant salt, multi-colored peas of allspice – all this is fine, but again – all the same preservatives can get into the mixture, and you will not notice. And some unscrupulous manufacturers replace expensive spices with cheap analogues, for example, dilute saffron.
Another thing is the market where all spices, without exception, are sold by weight (preservatives are excluded in them). Buy – and feel like a creator, mix it yourself, so much so that in the movie “Princess of Spices” you will not see this.
Well, everything is simple and sad here: bread from the supermarket is often baked from flour that has been bleached with the help of chemicals (for example, benzoyl peroxide, which is used for explosions in movies). Such flour is stored for a long time, insects do not start in it, but the prerequisites for the most dangerous diseases start. There is nothing to say about pre-packaged toast bread – just look at the almost one-year shelf life and composition.
Another thing is the market, where you will probably find someone who bakes bread himself without any chemicals. Well, for sure. One has only to walk a little longer and talk to people.
Even the most experienced consultant will not tell you how long they have been waiting for you in the supermarket. So, along with a convenient lunch, you run the risk of buying rotten mayonnaise or other stale ingredients.
Another thing is the market, where even finished products are sold many times faster. And the neighbors at the counter, as well as regular visitors, will tell you exactly who is worth taking from whom.
There are too many unknowns in factory frozen cutlets, kebabs and even dumplings. Meat unknown to you, unknown delivery time before packing, unknown production conditions …
Another thing is the market, where not only meat has been sold for a long time of its own manufacture, but also everything that you can easily cook from it.
10. Products “gluten-free”
There is only one reason to buy gluten-free baked goods: if you have a gluten intolerance. This is because they tend to be higher in fat, carbohydrates, and artificial ingredients than traditional bread. And they are more expensive.
Another thing is the market where gluten-free products are simply not produced, which means that there is no risk of grabbing them without noticing.
Semyon Rapoport, gastroenterologist, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Academician, Honored Scientist of Russia, Chief Researcher, Head of the Chronomedicine Laboratory of the I.M.Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University:
“The main principle is this: the fresher the product, the better. Old products or products, the expiration date of which is not possible to establish for certain, and first of all, these are the most dangerous nuts in this regard, cannot be bought. No one can tell you for sure how long it was stored in the supermarket. The second principle is closer to natural. Hence, I advise you to exclude all products in the package, for example, green salad that was washed in advance and placed in them. “
