Kemer city

I heard about Kemer at a travel agency when I was planning my first vacation in Turkey. “Choose Kemer. There is more greenery here and the sea is cleaner. ” And so I did.

It is a resort and port city on the Mediterranean coast, 42 kilometers from Antalya, part of the Turkish Riviera. There are 20 locals in Kemer, mostly tourists. Before the highway was built, Kemer could only be reached by sea.

Clean air, coniferous forests and mountains all around, which come close to the Mediterranean Sea.

Tourists are interested in archaeological sites and natural landscapes. After all, the city is located in the historical region of ancient Lycia. The great commanders Alexander the Great and Mark Antony visited these parts.

Our hotel

Modern Kemer is a beach area with many hotels for different wallets. From very modest hotels to luxury hotel complexes.

We lived for two weeks in Tekirova, a tourist village in the Kemer region. We settled in the 4 * Jeans Club Hotels Festival. The hotel is a 5-storey building. Pine trees, pool, animation. Distance to private beach 200 meters. There is a transfer. The distance to the airport is 73 kilometers.

Car rental without any problems!

We bought excursions from local tour bureaus on the streets. This is several times cheaper, and the service is higher than paying for excursions from the guides at the hotel.

Kekova Island

It is a small island in the sea. The area is only 4,5 sq. Km. You will see the ruins of the ancient city of Dolihiste, partially submerged by an earthquake. (XNUMXnd century AD).

The ancient Lycians believed that the dead should be buried as close to heaven as possible, as if this would help to get to heaven as soon as possible. The higher the deceased was buried, the richer he was. Some tombs are made in the shape of a house. The inscriptions have been preserved on them, unfortunately, many have not yet been deciphered.

Pamukkkale

Pamukkale – located at a distance of 280 km from Kemer, in the Denizli province. Travel by sightseeing bus 3,5 hours. Pammukale has 17 geothermal springs with water temperatures ranging from 35 to 100 ° C.

For shoppers, there are many clothing markets in Kemer. There is a food market on Ataturk Boulevard. Shopping centers have a wide selection of good products, but bargaining is easier at the bazaar.
