What to do with pilaf not cooked?
If the rice is not cooked in pilaf, you need:
1. Check if there is water left in the pilaf to cook the rice.
2. Carefully pour boiling water into the water, if there is no water – 5 glass of water into a 1-liter cauldron.
3. Cover the pilaf tightly with a lid so that the water does not evaporate.
4. Wait 5-10 minutes until the rice is cooked.
5. Taste the rice, if it is cooked, then finish cooking the pilaf. If not, repeat all procedures, starting from step 1.
Finally: we are used to the fact that the cooking time for rice is 20-25 minutes, but for pilaf, much more is needed. Why? – Because for pilaf, much more food and rice itself are put, and for the time to boil (that is, the start of the cooking time countdown) you need not the usual 5-10 minutes, but all 30. Therefore, it takes much more time to cook pilaf.
Don’t expect the pilaf to come by itself. Especially if you are not cooking pilaf in a cast-iron cauldron. And even more so if you mixed the pilaf and the rice ended up at the top. The internal temperature is simply not enough for the rice to come through on its own. Check the water according to the same principle, top up if necessary and boil for a few minutes. It will be calmer.
