If you overdo it with pepper, do not rush to get rid of the dish. The situation can be corrected in several ways.
Method 1. Add more ingredients
If it’s a soup or a side dish, just add more vegetables or cereals. The soup can also be diluted with water or ready-made broth.
Method 2. Add sugar
Sugar interrupts the taste of pepper, and if a sweetish taste is appropriate for a dish, you can safely sweeten it. A heavily peppery dish will not save it, but a little spicy will fix it.
Method 3. Prepare vegetable salad
Fresh vegetables take on the pungency, so salad is perfect for a peppery side dish. Choose vegetables that contain a lot of water – cucumbers, tomatoes, herbs.
Method 4. Add sour cream
Sour cream can make the taste of a spicy dish a little softer, so if, again, it is appropriate, add it. Replaces sour cream and yogurt, and any other fermented milk product.
Method 5. Make the dish sour
Acid neutralizes pungency – vinegar, lemon or lime juice. Start with 1 teaspoon, otherwise you risk completely ruining the dish. Sour tomatoes are also good for this method.
