Have you noticed that after the end of the program, powder and rinse aid remain in the washing machine? A malfunction has occurred. Each washing mode requires a certain amount of powder; if it exceeded the norm, the problem is with the bay, drain or the detergent itself.
What caused the problem and how to fix it, you will learn in the article.
Why does the powder remain in the washing machine and does not go away
Why does the powder remain in the tray, although it should have been washed off with water into the laundry tub? When this happened for the first time, you need to check the following options:
- Is it normal to pour water into the washer? Turn the shut-off valve, check the inlet hose. Usually, if water is not taken into the machine, it will not wash the powder out of the tray. Then the system issues a fault code on the display.
Open the dispenser tray and check if the detergent is in the correct compartment. Take a look at the instruction manual.
- Turn off the faucet and see if the water pressure is normal. If it is too weak, then it is not enough to wash the powder out of the dispenser. In this case, you need to wait until the feed is resumed.
- If the powder leaves the tray partially, it is worth checking if the channel through which the water is washed into the tank is clogged. Also, the reason may be a blockage of the mesh filter, which is at the inlet of the water intake valve.
- Is the detergent being used correctly? Look at the packaging for how much product should be used normally. If the powder is overfilled, some of it remains in the cuvette.
- Poor quality powder also leads to problems with flushing. Counterfeit products often stick to the walls and collect in lumps, preventing normal patency.
- Intake valve problems. If there is a blockage or breakage, this leads to a decrease in water pressure or its absence.
What to do if the powder does not wash out
If you are convinced that the pipes have normal pressure, but the product is not washed off after washing, you need to check other details.
Check filling system
Shut off the water supply. Substituting the container, unscrew the intake hose from the SMA body. Check it for blockage. Behind the hose is a mesh filter. Remove it with pliers and rinse under running water to remove clogs.
Next, you need to check the fill valve:
- Remove the top cover from the case. To do this, unscrew the two screws on the back.
- At the back wall there is an intake valve.
- Disconnect the hoses leading to it and check for blockage.
- Then you need to ring the coil using a multimeter.
- If it’s not a blockage, but a malfunction of the coils, then the valve must be completely replaced.
- To do this, disconnect the wiring from it.
- Loosen the screws that hold the valve on the back of the body.
- Pull out the old one and install the new one.
If, after reinstallation, the powder is not washed out again and does not go away, inspect the nozzles and nozzles through which the detergent flows from the tray to the tank. They can also be cleaned under running water.
What to do if the tray is clogged with powder
Most often, the tray becomes clogged due to excessive use of the powder. Plaque forms in the compartment, over time it hardens and interferes with the passage of water and the intake of detergent. Cleaning fossils is not easy, so you need to periodically rinse the dispenser tray under the tap.
Poor-quality detergent does not completely dissolve in water. Therefore, if you notice that the powder remains on things, change it to a better product.
How to clean the tray:
- Open the cuvette and, pressing the latch in the center, pull it out of the body.
- Rinse the compartments under running water; you can additionally clean contaminated areas with an old toothbrush.
- For fossils on the walls, soak the tray in a container of water for a while.
The machine does not wash off the powder: how to prevent the situation
To avoid such problems, you can pour the powder into the tank. But in this case, things will not rinse well, and stains will remain on the clothes.
You can also use liquid detergent or capsules. But without proper diagnosis, the problem will not disappear, and may even worsen, which will lead to costly repairs.
