What to do for children when they are bored at home: a child under 7 years old

What to do for children when they are bored, choose according to the situation. Mom’s arsenal contains thousands of ways to entertain a yearning child.

A common situation is when the mother is busy with the housework, and the baby stands in the kitchen and groans with boredom. The nursery is full of toys, but the baby tugs at mom’s sleeve and whimpers. Sometimes it happens when the crumb does not receive enough attention. If you allocate time for joint leisure for 2-3 hours, then the baby will not feel abandoned.

What to do for children when they are bored – build a fortress out of pillows

If time is sorely lacking, mom has to be cunning. Take a break from household chores and visit your baby’s room. After looking around the abandoned toys, give the little one a task:

  • put the doll to bed, tell her a bedtime story;
  • park all size cars;
  • draw how mom washes the dishes.

These tasks, as it were, will involve you in the game and will keep the kid busy for a while. Be sure to check the drawing and the location of the cars in the parking lot. Ask to tell how quickly the doll fell asleep, whether she liked the fairy tale.

If you feel that the child still does not want to bother with games, you can keep him busy with household chores. Instruct the girl to wipe the dishes or sort out the cereals. Children like to do adult things, perhaps they will make it an element of playing with dolls.

Mom may have new board games or interesting books in stock. The kid needs to be taught to play, then he can do it on his own. Spread the sweets around the apartment in secluded corners and draw a “treasure island” outline. Make the little one feel like a treasure hunter.

Expectations on the way plague the lively energetic toddler. He gets tired at stops, in transport and public institutions. In this case, you need to take “entertainment” with you. Make a list of things to do outside, and bring toys that can keep your child busy. If nothing was at hand, try to develop his imagination: “Imagine that you are on an island, in a forest, in a kindergarten … what do you see, tell me.”

Outdoor activities for the child

If you are at the doctor’s office, then the baby is most likely afraid, not bored – support him.

On a visit to friends where there are kids, you need to take board games. Before getting carried away with “adult” conversations, explain the rules of the game to the little ones.

Museums and exhibitions are unlikely to be of interest to a crumb, if you do not conduct an introductory conversation with him. Try to explain to the toddler what museums are for, look at the photos in advance. He may miss activities and information that are not appropriate for his age or interests.

Even a tedious event can be diversified by adding bright details. Boring duties can be spent racing.
