The rapidly developing body requires more and more nutrition and breastfeeding or infant formula is gradually being replaced by regular meals. And if you can still leave breast milk for breakfast or dinner, then lunch must be fed completely.

Soup should be present in the diet of a baby of the first year of life. It is better to cook it in vegetable or chicken broth. A great option for lunch would be milk soup with noodles or rice. Soup-puree or broth with ground chicken meat is very tasty. You can cook a light pink salmon fish soup with potatoes.

Food for children from one to two years old should be five times a day, with intervals between meals no more than 2 hours.

A 2-year-old toddler needs a more hearty lunch. During this period, it is recommended to introduce soups cooked in meat broth into the diet – cabbage soup from fresh cabbage, borscht, soup with dumplings. Children like dishes with green peas, beans, crackers.

Second courses that are prepared quickly and tasty

The best main course for a child of 1–2 years old will be lean meat or fish with a garnish of vegetables or buckwheat. You can make pasta with boiled minced meat or spaghetti with cheese. Stewed cabbage with chicken is very tasty.

Do not offer the crumbs food cooked the day before. These foods can be harmful to a baby’s stomach.

If you don’t have time at all, make a casserole. It can be any – meat, vegetable, mixed, porridge or puree. Babies love and stew made from bright vegetables. It is recommended to serve it as an independent dish, stewed with meat or as a vegetable side dish for cutlets and meatballs.

Is it possible for the child to fry, salt, spices

After a year, a baby is allowed to put no more than 0,5 grams of salt in food. For more accurate compliance with the recommended dosage, add some salt to the finished dish.

As for hot spices – pepper, horseradish, mustard – they are not recommended to be included in the diet of a baby until at least 6-7 years old.

The problem with preparing dinner will be solved forever if parents remember that the main meal should consist of light, tasty and nutritious dishes. No sweets, cakes or sandwiches on the go.
