What soups are eaten in different countries in the summer heat
 

The high temperature on the thermometer outside the window completely discourages the desire to eat something nourishing, hot and heavy. What soups are used to save people from different countries in extreme heat? 

Residents of Armenia prepare spas – saving soup in the summer heat. Also, this soup is a great helper for relieving flu symptoms, indigestion and hangovers. Spas is a dish both hot and cold, depending on the season. It is prepared on the basis of sour milk matsun or yogurt with the addition of rice, barley or wheat porridge.

Bulgarians also eat sour milk soup – tarator. Soup recipe – sour milk, water, cucumbers, pine or walnuts and dill with garlic. Light and fragrant, it is somewhat reminiscent of okroshka, only national.

 

In Georgia, shechamandy is traditionally cooked, which includes dogwood, garlic and salt. Sometimes the dogwood is replaced with a cherry. Another Georgian version of salvation from the heat is chrianteli fruit and vegetable soup made from cherries or blackberries. Green onions, cilantro and garlic are added to the juice of the berries, and at the very end – chopped fresh cucumbers.

French summer soup – vichyssoise. It is prepared in broth with the addition of a large amount of leeks, cream, potatoes and parsley. The vichyzoise is additionally cooled before serving.

In Latvia, they serve summer soup vasara or aukstā zupa – the first name is translated as “summer”, and the second – “cold soup”. The soup is based on pickled beets with mayonnaise, cucumbers, eggs, sausages.

Something similar is eaten both in Lithuania and in Poland – a cold pot made from beets, beet tops and beet kvass. It also includes kefir, cucumbers, meat, eggs.

In Africa, where summer is all year round, they save themselves with a yogurt-based soup mixed with zucchini, white wine, cucumbers and herbs. Another national soup of this country is made from peanut butter, tomatoes, vegetable broth, red pepper, garlic and rice.

Spanish gazpacho soup is famous all over the world. It is made with raw vegetables and even has a fruit version. The classic recipe is tomatoes, cucumbers, white bread and a variety of condiments. The ingredients are crushed until smooth, mixed with ice and served with crackers.

Italian soup also has a tomato flavor and is called Pappa al pomodoro. The soup contains tomatoes, spicy cheese, stale bread and olive oil.

Belarusians have in their menu a traditional soup – bread jail, which has been known since the beginning of the 19th century. Tyurya consists of kvass, rye bread, onions, garlic, dill, salt and served with sour cream.
