A medical consultation in the form of an e-visit is a relatively new solution that may seem inaccessible due to technological requirements. However, the patient does not need complicated hardware or software to use the e-visit – usually a telephone or a computer with Internet access is enough. What is necessary to use the e-visit?
What do I need for an e-visit?
E-visit is a service offered as part of telemedicine that enables remote consultation with a doctor of a selected specialization. Remote contact with a doctor is traditional here phone call or online conversation (e.g. via chat or video conference). Medical facilities offer various options for making calls – if there is more than one option, the patient can choose the preferred form of contact.
Therefore, in order to make an e-visit, the patient needs a suitable device (telephone or computer), Internet access, and in the case of private services also the option of online payment. In some cases, it is necessary to set up an account on a dedicated platform that not only enables using the e-visit, but also viewing and sending medical records or tracking booked appointments.

Equipment necessary to take advantage of the e-visit
To use an e-visit, you most often need a telephone and a computer with appropriate additional equipment and Internet access. In practice equipment needed to conduct a telemedicine consultation depends on what forms of e-visits are offered by a given telemedicine clinic. Usually, the instructions for using a given telemedicine platform contain information on how to use e-visits.
You may need the following devices to arrange and make an e-visit:
- mobile phone;
- computer or laptop with internet access, webcam, microphone and loudspeaker;
- another device that enables you to connect to your doctor, such as a tablet.
What software allows for the implementation of the e-visit?
The hardware and software requirements for a TV audience depend on the service provider’s offer. No special software is required for a standard telephone connection. Sometimes, however, it is necessary to create an account on the telemedicine platform in order to make a reservation.
Do you need a consultation with a specialist? Sign up for a teleconsultation in a few simple steps. Make an e-appointment and you will be seen by a doctor within 10 minutes. If we want to take advantage of online e-visits, the appropriate software will be provided by the service provider. It takes the form of an internet platform that the patient most often accesses after creating an account. It is used to chat with the doctor or video call via the built-in player. Sometimes you can choose not only an online platform, but also a special application for the phone.

Thanks to the system made available to patients by a given clinic or company offering telmedical services, patients can contact a doctor via video call, chat or Internet voice call.
In order to complete a private e-visit, it is necessary to pay for the service. To do this, you need access to internet banking. If the patient has a subscription to a given medical center, which includes telemedicine services, the payment will not be necessary. Also, in the case of telemedicine services at the National Health Fund, you do not have to pay for reimbursed e-visits.
