Is there anything at all that can piss off the waiter? It turns out there is.
When the waiter is invisible to the guest
Waiters admit that when they are looked at as empty space (i.e., they are not looked at at all) it annoys them the most. It happens that a new guest enters the hall, passes by the waiter, who greets him, and in response – nothing. A person simply walks by, looks for acquaintances, walks in one direction, then in another, begins to travel throughout the territory and often ends up returning to the waiter again – already with questions.
Rogue children
When children are well brought up or are passionate about something – they draw, play calmly in the play area – they only delight the eye. But it happens that the children are out of sorts: they get hysterical, strive to do a dirty trick to the waiter, they are clearly bored and are looking for adventure in the kitchen. And if at the same time the parents believe that everything is allowed for their children and do not try to correct the situation in any way, this is a headache for the waiter. After all, he needs to keep a lot of information in his head, especially when parked, and from the screaming and leprosy of little tomboy, the brain does “boil”.
“Why so long … ..”
If you are in a hurry, you need a quick snack, you are limited in time – do not be afraid to admit it. In this case, the restaurant employee will recommend you a salad or hot appetizer, which will be cooked in 15-20 minutes, and you will not wait long.
Some, having ordered a complex hot dish in a restaurant, often wonder why it is still not ready, “after all, already 10 minutes have passed.” It is impossible to cook a good dish from raw products in the shortest time period, this must be understood.
Disdainful treatment
When he is called with a snap of his fingers or defiantly loud, in a lordly manner, the waiter inside is on fire. And let it be earlier on “Hey, man!” no one was offended, now instead of “Hey …” it is better to use more polite forms.
- “Young man / girl, can I have you?”;
- “Would you please let our waiter come to us?”;
- “Please invite our waiter?”.
There are many more options how, without offending a person’s dignity, you can invite him to your table.
“Wait, I’m talking on the phone / choosing / meditating”
The work of a waiter is reminiscent of the main role in the movie “Crazy Day, or The Marriage of Figaro.” Remember: “Figaro is there, Figaro is there”? And when his name is called, he comes, but a person cannot place an order, every minute of waiting is like an hour.
From the revelations of one waiter: “You come to the table to take an order, a company of 4-5 people is sitting, almost everyone told you what they want. But they ask you not to leave, since the latter will also order something now. You feel like a complete idiot, standing at the table for 5 minutes, next to a person discussing all kinds of nonsense on the phone. Well, is it really impossible to put aside the phone for a minute and chat on request, then continue the conversation? “
No tip
Waiters admit that there are 2 types of guests who do not tip.
The first type – those that “take out the brain” all evening, bring them, serve them, take them, wait, “I’m on the phone …” including. The waiter, covered in soap, rushes back and forth and as a result does not receive any reward for his efforts.
And the second type, on the contrary, is people who are happy with everything, polite and cultured. They compliment the establishment, the cooks, the waiter, they like everything, from the interior to the rose bush at the entrance … But when they bring a check for payment, they pay only for what they have drunk and eaten. This type, however, annoys the waiters less.
Appreciate the work of the waiters! It is calculated: a waiter travels 15-20 kilometers per work shift. And if you take into account the average weight of a tray with dishes (this is at least 7-10 kilograms), then this profession can hardly be called simple.
