Hello, friends! Tatiana Erokhina is in touch with you. Today is a sad topic: What people regret before they die.
Australian writer Bronnie Ware has been a hospital nurse for many years. She helped patients to relieve their pain at the moment when the soul leaves the body.
Bronnie wrote an article that later became a book called The Five Commandments for a fulfilling life. Her book was translated into 27 languages, and from a simple nurse Bronnie Ware turned into a world-famous writer.
“People are very transformed when they face their own death,” says Ware, “I realized that this human ability should not be underestimated.
Some of the changes were phenomenal. Each person experiences a whole range of emotions before leaving. Denial, fear, anger, remorse, more denial, and ultimately acceptance.
Each person was seized by an extraordinary pacification just before leaving for another world. ”In moments of pacification, she asked them the same question:“ How would they like to live their life if there was an opportunity to repeat it? ”
What people regret before they die
“I would like to have the courage to live my life the way my heart wanted. And not as I should have done it for the people around me ”. This was the most frequent response from people who were aware that they were leaving and spoke from a pure heart.
“I feel sorry for the vitality and time that I spent on routine, uninteresting work,” – it was purely male repentance and it sounded from the lips of men.
“I would like to live expressing what I really feel, what lives in my heart.” Many people do not allow their real feelings to come out in order not to have unnecessary conflicts and live in peace with others.
This leads to the fact that they cannot be what they really are. They do not have the opportunity for self-expression and self-realization. Bitterness and resentment in your life are not the best companions.
“I’m sorry that I didn’t keep my connection with my friends.” Many of them were so busy with their personal lives that they stopped maintaining friendly relations with friends.
But they repented of this only at the very end of their life, appreciating the value of friendly relations. “They all miss their friends a lot,” says Bronnie. “I would feel happy just because I live.”
During their lives, many do not fully realize that happiness is their personal choice. They were limited by their habits and attitudes. Fear of change prevented them from being happy.
Bronnie Ware tried to understand these people. She helped them to appreciate the past years. So that they do not have complete disappointment when they cross the threshold of no return. You need to live happily and leave too.
